2021 LEN EUROPEAN AQUATICS CHAMPIONSHIPS

Anna Ntountounaki came in 4th in the women’s 50 fly tonight, swimming a 25.65. She touched just 0.06 seconds out of 3rd place, but still re-broke her own Greek Record in the event. Yesterday, Ntountounaki dipped under 26 seconds in the event for the first time in her career, clocking a 25.93, before taking another 0.28 seconds off the time in finals. She entered the meet as the Greek Record-holder in the event, having held the record previously at 26.09 from early April of this year.

The record was Ntountounaki’s 2nd of meet, as she broke the Greek Record in the women’s 100 fly a few days back as well. She swam a 57.37 in the 100, tying for Gold with France’s Marie Wattel.

Greece has had an excellent European Championships this year, having broken National records in 7 separate events. Ntountounaki was responsible for the 2 women’s records that were broken, and the men’s squad broke records in the 100 free, 400 free, 50 back, 100 back, and the 4×100 free relay.
