Air Force Men & Women Claim Victory At Front Range Invite

DENVER, Colo., – The Falcons walked away from the Front Range Invitational in the top spot, with a score of 891, defeating Colorado State, Wyoming, Denver, and Northern Colorado.

Naomi Furman earned a first-place finish in the 100 breast at 1:03.95. Teammates Maeve Linscott (1:04.57) and Mandy Fleetwood (1:05.50) followed in second and fourth, respectively.

The 200 medley relay placed second at 1:43.84 and the 400 free relay (3:27.34) took third.

In the 400 IM, Jordan Evans clocked a time of 4:32.99 to place third, while Elizabeth Sistrunk locked in a fifth place finish (4:35.01).

Amber Martin represented Air Force in the top five finishers of the 100 fly, in fourth place with a time of 56.39.

Locking in a time of 1:52.90, Lily Larson earned bronze in the 200 free, with freshman Sadie Hartig in fifth (1:53.56).

Distance swimmers Katie Andrist (17:45.84) and Abby Miller (17:49.54) placed third and fourth in the 1650 freestyle.

During the diving portion at Cadet Natatorium, Chloe Perkins scored a 245.20 on the 1-meter springboard for second place. Freshman Lulu Semakula came in third with a score of 242.95. With a score of 233.95, newcomer Giselle Rojas placed fifth.

On the platform, Perkins claimed the silver spot with a score of 199.70, representing the Falcons in the top five.

Air Force women’s swim and dive will travel to Fresno, Calif., for the Gary Ota Memorial Invite from October 10-11 at Fresno State.

DENVER, Colo., – The Falcons won their first invitational of the season, scoring 1212 to defeat Denver (1021.5) and Wyoming (806.5) at the Front Range Invite.

The A (1:31.27) and B (1:31.91) 200 medley relay teams finished in second and third respectively to open the second day of competition.

Sophomore Joe Christ claimed the top spot of the 200 free, logging a time of 1:40.77 in a close race. At 1:42.09, Tyler Surratt touched the wall to place third.

Camden Swigart placed third in the 400 IM at 4:07.57 with Evan Witte right behind in fourth (4:08.79).

Team captain James Winterfield earned a silver finish in the 100 fly, clocking a time of 49.03. Tanner Wilson (50.36) and Keoni Li (50.37) rounded out the top five in fourth and fifth place.

In the 100 breast, Falcon veteran Bridon Rosales took a second place finish at 55.01, while teammates Tanner Wilson (55.07), Mack Nuval (55.91), and Anthony Sebastian (57.42) followed behind.

Winterfield finished in second place, at 50.82, in the 100 back, with Garrett Kennedy in fifth (51.68).

Distance swimmer, Witte, touched the wall at 16:24.05 in the 1650 free to finish in third.

At Cadet Natatorium in USAFA, Colo., freshman diver Lucas Gerten collected his second collegiate win on the 3-meter springboard with a score of 357.10. Brady Nichol logged a fourth-place finish at 319.45.

The Falcons will be back in action at Cadet Natatorium on Oct. 17-18, hosting LSU, Denver, and MPSF opponent, Wyoming.

DENVER – The University of Denver men’s and women’s swimming and diving programs wrapped up the opening weekend of the 2025-26 campaign in the Front Range Invite on Saturday afternoon at El Pomar Natatorium for swimming and at the Air Force Academy for diving.

EVENT BY EVENT RECAP:
Denver’s women bounced back in the medley relay to kickoff Saturday’s action. Ali BeayPeyton MullowneyJulia Saxman and Angie Wyand combined for a time of 1:44.66 to take third on Saturday morning. The Pioneers B-relay finished fourth to earn 30 more points with a 1:45.70.

The Pioneer men completed the medley relay sweep on Saturday, taking the 200 when Quinn CollinsKito CampbellHamish McLellan and Luke Milburn clocked in at 1:31.03.

In the first individual event of the day, Sabrina Rachjaibun improved by a place in the 400 IM, finishing second with a 4:31.33. Mina Ada Solaker took fourth in 4:34.39 and Samantha Synsvoll grabbed sixth in 4:36.19.

Nico Morton got Denver’s men in the win column again with a time of 4:01.79 in the men’s 400 IM. Cota Clise finished fifth in 4:10.30 and Gabe Jones clocked in at 4:10.78 to take sixth.

Saxman led Denver’s women in the 100 fly, earning a podium place with her time of 56.20. McLellan got to the wall first in the men’s 100 fly, timing out at 48.99.

In the women’s 200 free, Synsvoll got back in the water and took fourth with her time of 1:53.32. Sienna Nitke got to the final wall in ninth with a time of 1:55.32.

Dylan Mes and Pierce Bickerton finished 4-5 in the men’s 200 free with times of 1:42.37 and 1:42.80, respectively.

Newcomer Kito Campbell earned his first individual win with the Crimson and Gold, timing at 54.81 in the men’s 100 breast to take the event title Saturday.

Darian Koler led Denver’s women in the 100 back, finishing second in the race with a 56.70. Lilly Zippel took fourth in 57.04 and Beay finished fifth in 57.22. Collins led Denver’s men with a third-place finish in 50.90, and Mason Bruhn took fourth in 51.36.

Saturday’s individual events ended with the mile on Saturday. Joseph Hancock finished second to lead DU’s men, reaching the final wall in 16:16.29. Finn Holdredge finished fourth in 16:30.83.

Denver’s men closed out the meet with a win by 0.16 seconds in the men’s 400 free relay as McLellan pulled out a 45.02 anchor leg to claim the win for the Pioneers. Matija PanticTommy Hancock and Dylan Mes swam the opening three legs for the victorious Denver relay.

In diving down at the Air Force Academy, Trip Gregory led Denver in the men’s 3-meter with a 327.30 to finish third. Colin Breuer took fifth with a 312.80.

On the women’s side, Savanna Berry earned Denver’s first diving win of the season with her score of 251.40 on the 3-meter board Saturday. Kaitlin Calvery took eighth with a 224.35. On the women’s platform, Calvery earned the event win with a score of 199.80. Freshman Tatum Brasfield turned in a 197.15 to take third.

UP NEXT:
Denver will have next weekend off before heading to the Air Force Academy the weekend of October 17 and 18 for a meet against Air Force, Wyoming and LSU.
