Abby Marshall Stays In State With Verbal To Florida Atlantic

Patriot Aquatics’ Abby Marshall will be staying in state next season, as she’s just given her verbal commitment to the Florida Atlantic women. Marshall will travel to FAU after she graduates from Lyman High School at the end of this school year.

Last season, Marshall was a 2-time champion at the 2015 FHSAA class 4A district 2 meet, where she won the 50 free and 100 breast. She then went on to compete at the 2016 NCSA Spring Championships, where she swam the 50 free.

With the 2016 FHSAA State Series now underway, Marshall is heading to the class 4A region 1 meet next week. At this season’s 4A district 2 meet last week, she placed in the top 3 of the 100 breast (2nd) and 200 IM (3rd). Her 2:10.42 in the 200 IM there was a new career-best time.

Marshall’s Top Times:

  • 50 free- 23.99
  • 100 back- 58.60
  • 100 breast- 1:06.53
  • 200 IM- 2:10.42

When she arrives at FAU, Marshall should have an immediate impact for the team at the C-USA Championships. Her times in the 50 free and 100 breast would’ve made it into the C-final at 2016 C-USAs. Additionally, with her 200 IM time from last week, she’s within a half second of what it took to qualify for the C-final in that race.
