Walter Zeman of Kissimmee, Florida has announced his commitment to stay in-state and swim and study at Florida State. Zeman flips his commitment from Michigan.
“After careful consideration, I’m beyond grateful to announce my final decision to verbally commit to continue my academic and athletic career at Florida State University! Thank you to my family, friends, and coaches who believed in me and supported me every step of the way. GO NOLES!!!”
Zeman swims for Windermere Lakers Aquatics and most recently competed at Florida Senior Champs. There he was highlighted by a 4th place finish in the 50 fly as he swam a season best 22.67. He also finaled in the 50 free with a 20.78 for 8th but was slightly faster in prelims with a 20.72. His lifetime best times listed below have remained the same from when he committed to Michigan in the fall.
At the start of the year, Zeman competed at the Austin Pro Series and swam to a lifetime best 58.08 in the LCM 100 fly for 23rd.

- 100 Free: 44.89
- 200 Free: 1:41.63
- 100 Fly: 50.53
The Florida State men finished 6th out of 15 teams at the 2026 ACC Championships with 624.5 points. Logan Robinson led the team with an ACC title in the 200 fly (1:38.78) and a 2nd place finish in the 200 free (1:31.18).
Based on his best times, Zeman would sit at #10 in the 50 free and #14 in the 100 free this past season. It took a 19.46 in the 50 free and a 42.67 in the 100 free to earn a 2nd swim at ACCs.
Zeman will arrive this fall as a member of the class of 2030 along with Aidan Villars, Ted Nilsson, Ryan Coughenour, Clay Magyar, and Anthony Pineiro.
