Fitter and Faster Swim Camps is the proud sponsor of SwimSwam’s College Recruiting Channel and all commitment news. For many, swimming in college is a lifelong dream that is pursued with dedication and determination. Fitter and Faster is proud to honor these athletes and those who supported them on their journey.
Jersey Wahoos’ Camryn Tilger has committed to the University of Notre Dame for the fall of 2026.
I’m extremely excited and grateful to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and athletic career at the University of Notre Dame. I want to thank my family, coaches, friends, and teammates for the unwavering support and help throughout this process. I also want to thank all of the Notre Dame coaching staff for giving me this incredible opportunity. I can’t wait to start this new chapter. GO IRISH☘️☘️
Tilger, a Medford, N.J. native, recently competed at the Speedo Winter Junior Championships (SCY) in Indianapolis. Her top placing came in both the 200 butterfly and 400 IM, where she finished 27th in both the 200 fly (2:01.50) and 400 IM (4:21.46), setting a lifetime best in the latter. She also finished 61st in the 200 IM in 2:04.39.
In February, Tilger competed at the Supper Bowl Splash ABBC meet (SCY), where she recorded four lifetime-best performances that still stand today. She set best times in three different 200-yard races, including the 200 fly (1:58.51), 200 backstroke (2:01.72), and 200 breaststroke (2:20.33). In addition to those bests, Tilger also added her fastest-ever 100 back in 56.47.
Tilger also boasts a best time in the 200 IM of 2:02.15 from the NJSIAA Meet of Champions in 2024. Tilger’s best-ever 200 free came in November of 2024 when she clocked 1:53.13 at the NJ GSCY Veterans Memorial ABBC. Her fastest 500 free is 4:58.85, set in November 2023.
Best Times SCY:
- 200 IM: 2:02.15
- 400 IM: 4:21.46
- 100 Fly: 55.06
- 200 Fly: 1:58.51
- 200 Free: 1:53.13
- 500 Free: 4:58.85
- 200 Back: 2:01.72
- 200 Breast: 2:20.33
The Notre Dame women finished 12th at the 2025 ACC Swimming and Diving Championships last season.
Based on Tilger’s best times, she would have finished 23rd in the 200 fly (‘C’ final), 34th in the 200 IM, and 46th in the 200 IM at those championships.
The current state of Notre Dame’s 200 fly group positions Tilger as the 4th fastest performer for the 2025-2026 season behind Carli Cronk (1:55.70), Lainey Mullins (1:57.36), and Emily Kitayama (1:58.11). Cronk and Kitayama are both in their sophomore years, and Mullins is currently a junior, giving the Fighting Irish women a loaded 200 fly group for 2026.
Kitayama also leads the 200 IM group in 2:00.49, and Crink is the fastest 400 IMer on the roster in 4:12.25.
Tilger has not recorded a best time in the 200 IM since March of 2024, but if she can get back down to that 2:02 range, she puts herself in a much more competitive position across the ACC.
Her 200 fly best was set in February, but she still has some time to develop before her collegiate debut. She would have scored at ACCs last year, and that is a positive sign that having the top three 200 butterflyers potentially returning for one or more seasons could help elevate Tilger into an even higher scoring position.
Tilger joins Ellie Bina, Caroline Mulrooney, Catie Brenneman, Jaylee Hager, Averie Hager, and Renee Nealon in the Notre Dame 2026 recruiting class.
