The International Ice Swimming Association has announced that they suspended the membership of Olympian Cody Miller, who recently signed with the steroid-driven Enhanced Games.
The release said, in part:
“This decision is neither a moral nor a personal judgment against the athlete. Instead, it reflects IISA’s firm stance on maintaining the integrity of our sport. Safety is also a consideration, though it is not the primary factor in our decision. Currently, there is limited knowledge about the effects of enhanced substances on athlete safety, particularly in the extreme physiological conditions associated with ice swimming.
The IISA also said that as an aspiring Winter Olympic sport, it aligns with the World Aquatics and Olympic Code of Conduct. In June, World Aquatics banned all Enhanced Games participants from its events. That led to the Enhanced Games filing an $800 million lawsuit against the global governing body, which a federal judge in New York dismissed.
Miller mentioned his forays into ice swimming competition when discussing his decision to join the Enhanced Games.
In his video explaining his participation, Miller drew a parallel between ‘different types of competition’ like finswimming and ice swimming, and the Enhanced Games.
“Enhanced Games is a different thing with a different set of rules,” he said.
Miller was one of 200 participants in the inaugural 2025 Minnesota Ice Swim in February at Lake Johanna. There, a video on Miller’s YouTube channel claimed that he was part of a World Record setting 4×25 meter medley relay, though the IISA doesn’t publish a record in that event nor could SwimSwam verify one.
He is listed as the winner of the 25 meter free competitive event (12.60) and the 50 meter free competitive event (28.25).
The event website for the Minnesota Ice Swim says that it is “on the path to becoming the first IISA sanctioned swimming event in the United States.”
Miller is one of at least 14 swimmers who have signed on to participate in the Enhanced Games, with the organization teasing more name drops to come.
Miller, 33, is a two-time Olympic medalist. He owns a gold medal in the men’s 400 medley relay and a bronze medal in the men’s 100 breaststroke from the 2016 Olympic Games.
His last meet under the USA Swimming/World Aquatics umbrella came a year ago at the IU Natatorium Jingle Jamboree. There he swam the 50 free and the 100 back, but no breaststroke events. That is his only official meet since finishing 15th in the semi-finals of the 2024 US Olympic Trials.

Huge news for the unemployed
Brrrrrr !
“enhanced”?
Expect a much shorter life span as a druggie.
Does taking penicillin also make you a druggie? Pretty sure that one gives most people a longer life span.
Point being that we don’t really know what he’s taking, and in his defense he did say he was doing it in part to find out how to live longer. I doubt that’s the main reason, but I also don’t think it’s fair to spin that into a full 180 of “this guy’s not going to make it for very long”
So lemme get this straight….
We are now comparing penicillin to steroids? What’s next? RFK as HHS?
It’s called hyperbole, a literary device they teach in elementary school. Or at least I was taught that, maybe you slipped through the cracks.
Those who had either strong or any reading comprehension skills would have read my second paragraph, and realized that the point didn’t revolve around penicillin, but rather that someone who doesn’t know exactly what he’s taking shouldn’t pass judgement on his health.
Fortunately for you, we’re living in the age of information. There are plenty of resources on the internet to help you strengthen your literacy, which is very important in this day and age.
Fascinating.
So…we don’t what he’s taking, or going to take, for The Diminished Games, therefore we must not pass judgement.
What do you think he will take? Vitamin C tablets? Extra scrambled eggs? Bananas?
Tell me exactly what he’s taking. Oh wait, you don’t know.
I’m keeping receipts for when he inevitably says what he’s taking on YT. Be warned.
I’m…er…shaking with anticipation.
Do you seriously think he will take…er…penicillin? What are the chances that it will NOT be a banned (from normal swimming) substance?
This is a very strange conversation.
Awwww.
No, actually it’s more like a straw man argument
Wut? 🤣
Diminished!
Somewhat hilarious virtue signaling.
A better punishment would be requiring him to participate in their events.
I was part of the organizing committee for the Minnesota ice swim event.
The event was NOT sanctioned by IISA.
We were trying to get a sanction however due to the very limited timeframe to complete all the paperwork, sign people up, have the necessary requirements we ran out of time.
We did ask that many participants create accounts on IISA, myself included.
I speak for myself only, but knowing the IISA wants to be in the Winter Olympics, banning someone who is “promoting doping” and anything with the enhanced games is a move to signal to the Olympic Committee that doping is not acceptable.
My personal thoughts.
Swimming in the Winter Olympics would be awesome. And virtue signaling or not, I’m glad Cody Miller has been disqualified from participation.
Not a loss at all
Just the first one, see ya druggie
Imho, the only thing that you really need to know about The Diminished Games is as follows:
“The Enhanced Games represent the future – real competition, real freedom, and real records being smashed. This is about excellence, innovation, and American dominance on the world stage – something the MAGA movement is all about.”
Donald Trump Jr
