This was her first personal best time in the event in more than four years and was more than a second faster than her season best 1:04.97 that she swam at the first World Cup stop in Carmel.

Gorbenko was in 5th place after the first 25, but she made up ground on the rest of the field, turning in 3rd at the 50 mark.

She turned around after the 100 breast to swim the 100 IM semifinal in the next event. She ultimately qualified 8th overall, touching in 58.31 to come in about half-a-second ahead of Slovakia’a Tamara Potocka.

Gorbeno still has the 100 IM final tomorrow and she is entered in the 200 IM, 100 free, and 50 breast over the next five days.
