Minnesota native and Futures qualifier Brix Dewitt has verbally committed to join the Colorado Mesa class of 2026.
“I am excited to announce my commitment to further my academic and athletic career at Colorado Mesa University!
I’m so grateful for everyone who has shown me support throughout this journey. I would like to thank my family, the Witte family, Coach Jb, Dennis, friends, and especially @cu_swimdive for this amazing opportunity.
GO MAVS!! @mtkaswimclub”
Dewitt is a senior at Minnetonka High School and swims for the Minnetonka Swim Club. At the 2025 MSHSL Boys Class AA State Championships in March, Dewitt finished 6th in the 100 free finals, touching in a new personal best time of 45.87. He also swam a new personal best in the 200 freestyle, touching in 1:41.11 to finish 4th overall.
Later that month, he swam at the NCSA Spring Championships, where he set new personal bests in the 50 free, at 21.54 as a relay leadoff leg, and in the 100 back, at 53.6.

Colorado Mesa University is a Division II school that competes in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference, where their men’s team has won the conference meet seven years in a row. The Mavs also finished 9th at the 2025 NCAA DII Championships.
Dewitt will come in as a potential contributor in a few of his events. On last season’s depth chart, he would have been tied for 7th in the 50 free, 3rd in the 100 free, and 5th in the 200 free, making him a potential relay contributor as a freshman.
At the RMAC meet last season, he would have finished 19th in the 50 free, 10th in the 200 free, and 8th in the 100 free, scoring in both the 200 and 100 frees, and he sits only three tenths out of scoring position in the 50 with 21.24 qualifying 16th out of prelims.
He will join a recruiting class with Austin Felio, Brady Bennett, Brody Blatt, and Denny Woods on campus in the fall
