Fitter and Faster Swim Camps is the proud sponsor of SwimSwam’s College Recruiting Channel and all commitment news. For many, swimming in college is a lifelong dream that is pursued with dedication and determination. Fitter and Faster is proud to honor these athletes and those who supported them on their journey.
Nitros of Kansas’ Lauryn Vogt has verbally committed to the University of Kansas as a part of the Jayhawks’ 2026 recruiting class.
l am thrilled to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and athletic career at the University of Kansas!
First, I would like to thank God for giving me the ability and talent to swim and compete. A big thank you to my parents for their constant love and support. I am forever grateful! I also want to thank my family, friends, teammates and ALL my coaches for always supporting and encouraging me. A special thank you to Coach Bailey for pushing me to do my best and for believing in me. Lastly, I want to thank Coach Clark and Coach Ryan for this amazing opportunity. Rock Chalk! ❤️💙
Vogt put forth an impressive performance at the USA Swimming Futures Championships (LCM) in Justin this past summer, notching best times in the 100 butterfly (1:03.22) and 200 IM (2:25.02) to place 3rd and 6th overall, respectively., Vogt added high finishes in the 50 free (27.33, 7th), 100 free (59.22, 5th), and 200 fly (2:22.07, 5th).
Throughout her high school career, Vogt has picked up five Kansas 5-1A State titles for Hillsboro High School. As a freshman, she captured her first title in the 50 free (23.92). She followed that up with a pair of wins as a sophomore in the 50 free (23.77) and 100 fly (56.02). Most recently as a junior, she won her third 50 free title in 23.39, and her first win in the 100 free (50.28), both of those times stand as her best times of her career.
Vogt also holds solid bests in the 200 free of 1:54.01 from the Missouri Valley Senior Championships in March. She also boasts some good butterfly times, boasting 56.01 in the 100 fly, and 2:04.06 in the 200 fly.
Best Times SCY:
- 50 Free: 23.39
- 100 Free: 50.28
- 200 Free: 1:54.01
- 100 Fly: 56.01
- 200 Fly: 2:04.06
- 200 IM: 2:07.03
- 400 IM: 4:31.07
The Kansas women finished 8th at the 2025 Big 12 Swimming and Diving Championships last season.
Based on Vogt’s best times, she would have qualified just inside of the ‘B’ final in the 100 free, and would have finished 32nd in the 50 free and 200 fly at those championships.
There is plenty of sprint free potential for Vogt within this Kansas roster. This pickup could also give the Jayhawks another option for the relays. Vogt’s best time off of a flat start sits just over a tenth of a second off of the leadoff time from Kansas’ Big 12 200 free relay leg of 23.23 from Caroline Blake, who will have graduated by the time Vogt makes her debut.
Vogt joins Hannah Renaud in the Kansas 2026 recruiting class.
