Australian Olympic medal winning swimmer Zac Incerti has been cast on Season 7 of the hit global reality dating television show Love Island Australia. While other versions of the show have had high level athletes appear, Incerti is believed to be the first Olympic medalist to appear as part of the cast on the global franchise.
Incerti, 29, won bronze medals as part of the Australian 800 free relay at the 2020 and 2024 Olympic Games, and another bronze as part of the Australian 400 free relay in Tokyo. He swam in the finals for both 2020 relays, while in 2024 he raced a prelims leg.
Incerti last raced at the 2025 Australian Swimming Trials, where he posted times of 48.46 in the 100 and 1:45.80 in the 200 free. While he finished 6th in the 100, he scratched out of finals of the 200 after being the fastest swimmer in the morning. His time was 3rd-best overall, though he ultimately wasn’t selected for the World Championship team.
He hasn’t raced since those Trials in June of this year.
A press release from Australia’s Nine television network says that:
He admits doing Love Island Australia is completely out of his comfort zone, but that’s what appeals to him. After all those mornings training in the pool, following the black line, doing something like Love Island Australia is so random and out of the box that he loves it.
Zac has also had a more recent long-term relationship breakup, so the show has come along at exactly the right time.
The show, aside from certain special seasons, is not generally a “celebrity casting” series, though there are often ‘models’ and ‘social media influencers’ as part of the cast – and most of the cast have some past of trying to build a public personality. Careers of other contestants on this season include a nurse, a salesman, and a plumber.
The show involves putting a group of single adults together in a huge villa, with contestants being required to couple up to stay on the show. Recouplings happen throughout the season, and single islanders risk being dumped from the island.
The winning pair, based on a public vote, receive a $50,000 prize, though one person from the pair can choose to keep the money for themselves in the ultimate symbol of trust.
Nobody across all seasons and all franchises has kept the money – likely because the real payday is from the brand deals and massive social media following earned from the show. Season 1 winner Tayla Damir Broad, for example, has almost half-a-million followers on Instagram, though she ultimately married an Australian Rules Football player who she did not leave the show with.
The first episode of the show airs October 27.

First read it as Zac Stubblety-Cook and was very confused.
And of course… the ‘joins’ took a moment to handle as I quickly scanned the rest of the heading.
I almost read it as “Zac Stublety Cook joins Enhanced Games” and my heart skipped a beat.
To be fair, Zac will be well received. I was timekeeping at a meet where some other timekeeping Mums were being very jovial about “now knowing why they like coming to swim meets” as Zac was walking towards them and the starting block in front of them, he cuts quite the physique and puts more than his fair share of Men to shame 🌶️🔥.
Do what you do best Zac and crush it, best wishes to you 🤙.
I’ve never really seen him, but in this picture He’s ♨️🥵
Creepy comment; what if we switched the gender of the swimmer in question?
Wake up, Zac is 29 and the Mum’s were certainly of age to admire his manly physique. It was all very jovial, as I mentioned.
these are weird comments bro
No they are not.
Be honest, how many of you saw, “3-Time Olympic Medalist Zac Incerti Joins…” and just filled in the rest yourself?
Not where I expected him to go! Good for him, himbo it up.
Never watched Love Island US, but I did watch a season of Australia with my roommate. It’s fun pulpy TV and the accents are top tier. Go Zac! Cool seeing swimmers in the mainstream.
Can confirm that the Commonwealth versions are way more entertaining than the US versions.
My favorite in this genre is the UK version of Too Hot to Handle.
No one gonna top Kale and Tyra
^^^ That is the season I watched and I agree with you wholeheartedly, they are perfect
