Tomasz Polewka knocks off Polish record in 50 back at Poland Grand Prix

On the second and final day of the Polish Grand Prix event in Opole, rising star Tomasz Polewka took down a national record in the 50 backstroke, going 25.12.

That time chopped a tenth off of Bartosz Kizierowski‘s former mark of 25.27. Polewka absolutely destroyed the field on the way to that record, winning by 1.2 seconds over second-place.

That time also moves Polewka just inside our world top 10 rankings for 2014, as his time sits 10th by .01.
