Summer Juniors Qualifier Brody Singley (2025) Flips Commitment from Auburn to FAU

Fitter and Faster Swim Camps is the proud sponsor of SwimSwam’s College Recruiting Channel and all commitment news. For many, swimming in college is a lifelong dream that is pursued with dedication and determination. Fitter and Faster is proud to honor these athletes and those who supported them on their journey.

A year after verbally committing to Auburn, Callahan, Florida’s Brody Singley announced his intention to remain in-state to swim and study at Florida Atlantic University. He wrote on social media:

“I’m very excited to announce my commitment to Florida Atlantic University. I’d first like to give all the glory and thanks to God for guiding me through this long process. I’d also like to thank my family, for being right beside me the entire time. I want to thank my coaches for pushing me and helping me get to where I am. Finally, I want to thank the coaches at FAU for giving me this opportunity. Go Owls!! 🦉🦉”

Singley graduated from Callahan’s West Nassau County High School, where he was a USA Swimming Scholastic All-American. He won FHSAA Class 4A state titles in the 200 free (1:39.59) and 500 free (4:29.74) as a junior and in the 200 free (1:39.01) and 100 fly (49.33) as a senior.

A year ago, Singley moved from Episcopal AmberJax to SwimRise Aquatics, also based in Jacksonville. He focuses primarily on distance freestyle, fly, and IM and is a Summer Juniors qualifier in the 400/800/1500 free and 200 fly. Singley had a strong showing at the Florida Swimming Spring Senior Championships, finishing top-8 in the 200/500 free and 100/200 fly and taking home new PBs in the 50 free (20.96), 100 free (45.63), 200 free (1:38.60), 500 free (4:26.74), 100 fly (49.08), and 200 fly (1:47.42).

Singley kicked off the 2025 long course season with PBs in the 50 fly (26.18), 100 fly (56.23), and 200 fly (2:05.10) at the TYR Pro Swim Series – Fort Lauderdale.

In SCY, he has dropped 1 second in the 200 free, 1.2 in the 500 free, and 5.1 in the 200 fly over the past 12 months.

  • 200 fly – 1:47.42
  • 100 fly – 49.08
  • 1650 free – 15:30.68
  • 500 free – 4:26.74
  • 200 free – 1:38.60
  • 100 free – 45.63
  • 50 free – 20.96

The FAU men finished 2nd out of 5 teams at the 2025 ASUN Championships. Singley’s times would have scored in the ‘A’ finals of the 500 free and 200 fly and the ‘B’ finals of the 200 free and 100 fly. (He also would have won the conference title in the 1650 free, but he hasn’t swum the mile since December 2023, so he might have dropped the event from his repertoire.) He will join a training group led by 500 free conference champ Daniel Laureyssens, James Shevchenko, Francesco Fiore, and Christoffer Weiss, among others, and his class of 2029 teammates will include Chip Andrews, Noah Reeves, Simon Wright, and Wyatt Porch.
