Matt Brownstead, Quinn Schaedler Tie Knot During Elegant Wedding In Ireland

A wedding between two American swimmers has been a big talking point on social media over the past week.

On July 1, Quinn Schaedler and Matt Brownstead tied the knot at the luxurious Adare Manor in Ireland.

Schaedler and Brownstead, both standout swimmers at the University of Virginia who had been dating since the beginning of their freshman years in 2020, got engaged in December 2023

Brownstead announced his retirement from swimming in April 2024 after a distinguished career at Virginia, where he was a six-time All-American. His best finishes at the NCAA Championships were in 2022, when he took 3rd in the 50 free (18.60) and 4th in the 100 free (41.22).

Schaedler swam for Virginia from 2020 to 2023, finishing 8th in the 200 free at the 2021 ACC Championships.

According to Evoke, the couple transformed the Adare Manor ballroom into a flowery paradise, with thousands of white roses covering tables and dangling from the ceiling among chandeliers.

Schaedler had 10 bridesmaids by her side for her special day.

Upon arrival during a welcoming party, friends and family of the couple were treated to a gourmet fish meal and a performance from the Irish dancing group, Cairde.

The wedding came weeks after another high-profile wedding at Adare Manor involving New York couple Ally Rice and Sean Fernando. That wedding was organized by celebrity wedding planner Marcy Blum and reportedly cost seven figures.

Well deserved for this young couple. Who knows maybe they’ll hear the patter of little feet later on. But still. Congrats Matt and Quinn

What a cover photo to use for something you’re describing as elegant.

The planners were actually “Olivia Buckley International” not Marcy Blum.

I think the article was referring to the wedding held there previously by some famous NYC people I’ve never heard of. Not sure why that’s relevant at all lol

I think they were just giving context to how fancy the wedding was.

Yeah, but has anyone heard of any of those people? I guess we’re just supposed to assume it’s so fancy! Idk, it’s a weirdly written article about two swimmers people have never heard of either.

Legend has it the rivers and plains of Ireland erupted into ferocious vibrations the second Matthew “Brick” Brownstead’s aircraft set foot on the country.
