The USA Swimming Foundation announced its 2014 USA Swimming Foundation Make a Splash grant recipients. All grant funds are used to provide swim lessons and water safety education for children who wouldn’t otherwise have the opportunity to learn to swim.
“With the 2014 grants provided this year, the USA Swimming Foundation is proud to have awarded more than $3 million in grant funding since 2007,” said USA Swimming Foundation Executive Director Debbie Hesse. “Providing these grants makes it possible for the USA Swimming Foundation to live up to its mission of saving lives and building champions by empowering our Make a Splash Local Partners to extend the gift of learn-to-swim in their communities.”
The Foundation received 130 applications to help fund learn-to-swim programs across the country. After careful review, the grant review committee agreed to award 57 grants, totaling $322,495 to USA Swimming Foundation Make a Splash Local Partners in 24 states across the country.
Phillips 66, who, in addition to presenting the USA Swimming Foundation’s Make a Splash Tour, has made a significant financial contribution to provide grant funding to Make a Splash Partners in Houston, TX.
