Four Indian Swimmers Ne English Channel Ko Cross Kiya

Bengaluru ke 4 Indian swimmers Vrushali Prasade, Danish Abdi, Anuj Aneja aur Rohan Patnaik ki team ne 11 August 2024 ko 17 hours and 9 minutes me English Channel ki 34km ki notoriously choppy distance cross ki.

Sea ke paas na hone ke karan team ko swimming preparation ke liye Kai challenges face karne pade.

English Channel, duniya me toughest open-water swims me se ak hai, jo England ke Dover se France tak 33.5km tak faila hua hai. Strong tides and winds ki wajah se ye distance 55km ke kareeb ho jaati hai. Paani ka temperature averaging 18°C ya usse kam hone par, swimmers ko hypothermia and jellyfish stings jaise risks ko face karna padta hai. Inn challenges ke baawjood, swimming complete karna human endurance ka ak remarkable feat hai.

English Channel ke frigid water ke liye prepare hone ke liye, team April 2024 me ak week ke tough training camp ke liye Menorca, Spain gayi. 15°C ke paani ke temperature aur 10°C ke aaspaas air temperature ko face karte huye, unhone apni physical and mental limits ko cross kiya. Iss tough training period ne na keval unhe vital certificates dilaye balki Channel ko jeetne ke determination ko bhi majboot kiya.

18 months ki intensive trainings and sacrifices ke baad 11 August 2024 ki subah team Dover me ikattha hui aur swim 2 baje se start hui, jisme Vrushali team ki captain sabse aage thi, uske baad Anuj, Danish aur Rohan the.

IIT graduate and Ironman competitor Rohan ne uss pivotal moment ko yaad karte huye kaha, “hum shoreline dekh sakte the, phir bhi uss tak pahochna ak bade challenge ko tarah lag raha tha. Three gruelling hours tak, hum waves se battle karte rahe, iss determination ke saath ki hum sea me wapas na chale jaayen.”

Team ke liye ye achievement personal victory se kai badhkar thi; isne unity and resilience ki strength ko dikhaya. Team ki captain Vrushali ne kaha, “hamari journey ak inspiration hai, jo prove karti hai ki determination and collective support se sabse daunting challenges se bhi overcome kiya ja sakta hai.” Unki success ne Indian swimmers ko open-water swimming ke global map par majbooti se wapas la diya hai.
