Nick McCrory Garners ACC Male Diver of the Week

Senior Nick McCrory garnered ACC Male Diver of the Week accolades for the third time this season Tuesday, Nov. 26 after sweeping the three diving disciplines at the 2013 Janis Hape Dowd Nike Cup in Chapel Hill, N.C.

McCrory, who was featured in Sports Illustrated’s ‘Faces in the Crowd’ in the Nov. 18 issue, claimed his third ACC Male Diver of the Week recognition following last weekend’s Nike Cup. The Chapel Hill, N.C., native surpassed NCAA Zone Diving Championships qualifying standards in all of his preliminaries and finals performances across the three boards. He opened the meet with a score of 477.65 to win the 3-meter springboard competition and followed Friday, Nov. 22 with an award of 446.50 in the 1-meter final. In the platform event Saturday, Nov. 23 at Duke’s Taishoff Aquatic Pavilion, McCrory posted a score of 460.30 to once again lead the field.

The Blue Devil men and women resume action Saturday, Jan. 11 when they travel to Columbia, S.C., to face South Carolina in a non-conference dual meet.
