HANOVER, N.H. — The Northeastern swim and dive team beat Dartmouth 175-156 and UMass 273-51 at the Tate Ramsden Invitational at Dartmouth College after the two-day meet concluded Saturday afternoon.
SATURDAY
- Freshman May Bradburn opened the morning with a 54.68 time in the 100 Fly to win the event and set a pool record, and was followed by junior Hannah Seward (54.85) and senior Jamie Koo (54.88).
- The Huskies closed out the morning session with a 1:44.07 time in the 200 Medley Relay, as Koo, sophomore Kate Cosgrove, sophomore Marcela Scaramuzza and sophomore Kotoko Blair combined to win the event.
- Seward was the runner up in two other events after the 100 Fly: 200 Fly (2:02.43) and 200 Free (1:50.69)
- Junior diver Erin Murphy finished second in the 1M Dive with a score of 275.40.
- Bradburn then won the 100 Free in the afternoon, recording a time of 50.44 seconds in the win.
- Northeastern also won the 400 Free Relay, setting a meet record in the event with a time of 3:25.46.
FRIDAY
- The 200 Free Relay team of Koo, Blair, Bradburn and freshman Mary Nordmann posted a time of 1:32.77 to set both the meet and pool records, and were under two seconds away from the Northeastern record.
- Junior Hannah Seward picked up a win in the 200 IM, setting the meet record with a time of 2:04.71. The Huskies earned places 1-7 in the event.
- Koo also won the 50 Free, recording a time of 23.17 to break the meet record. She was followed by Bradburn (23.32) and Blair (23.55).
- Junior Erin Murphy finished second in the 3M Dive with a score of 284.95 and senior Grace Miller was the runner-up in the 500 Free (5:01.18).
Next up, the Huskies will head over to Boston University for the Boston Winter Open Friday, Feb. 9 and Saturday, Feb. 10.

HANOVER, N.H.— Finishing off the Tate Ramsden Invitational on Saturday at Karl Michael Pool, the Dartmouth women’s swimming and diving team defeated UMass by a score of 254-69, and suffered a 175-156 loss to Northeastern. Julianne Jones turned in multiple performances for the record books, breaking two meet records and one pool record.
Jones swam a 2:16.39 to win the 200 breast, breaking her own pool record. The sophomore also won the 400 IM with a meet-record 4:24.48, and had another first-place finish with a meet record in the 200 breast (2:00.09).
Another meet record fell courtesy of Jamieson Legh, who registered a 55.61 during her first-place effort in the 100 back.
Carinn Bethea had a win on Friday and added two more on Saturday, finishing first in the 200 free with a time of 1:50.09 and swimming a 17:23.55 in the 1650 free. Kathy Jia gave the Big Green a victory in the 100 breast (1:04.99).
Maggie Lambdin, who had an outright win on the 3-meter board in last weekend’s Ivy League competition, was victorious on both the 1-meter (281.90) and 3-meter (297.55) boards.
Prior to Saturday’s slate of events, the Big Green honored seniors Zoe Moon and Rachel Zhang.
Ivy League action resumes on Saturday, Jan. 27 when Dartmouth visits Columbia.
HANOVER, N.H.— After Friday’s strong start to the Tate Ramsden Invitational, the Dartmouth men’s swimming and diving team sealed a convincing 240-94 win over UMass on Saturday at Karl Michael Pool in the Big Green’s final home action of the 2023-24 season.
Friday’s slate of events was highlighted by a meet record from the Big Green in the 200 free relay, and Dartmouth followed it up on Saturday with four more meet records. Logan Pack won the 100 back with a time of 49.50, the 200 medley relay team (Colton Rasmussen, Alexander Ye, Adam Ladman and William McClelland) took first at 1:32.10, Reed Wallace won the 200 back with a time of 1:48.09, and finally the 400 free relay squad (Pack, Ladman, Rasmussen and Isaac Weigel) raced to a victory at 3:03.42 to round out the Big Green’s many meet records.
Andy Peterson notched a first-place finish in the 100 fly (50.22), and later won another event after swimming a 1:49.23 in the 200 fly. Ye followed with a 400 IM victory (4:00.45). Weigel, Rasmussen and Ladman went 1-2-3 in the 200 free, led by Weigel with a time of 1:38.81. Tommy Erwin contributed a win on Friday and had another to his credit on Saturday after finishing first in the 1650 free (16:07.20).
Each of the top five finishers in the 100 free were Big Green athletes, led by Rasmussen, who swam a 45.46. David Ji emerged victorious in the 200 breast with a time of 2:09.70.
Dartmouth has defeated UMass in each iteration of the Tate Ramsden Invitational, dating back to the 2017-18 season, when it was first named in honor of Tate Ramsden ’17.
The Big Green also celebrated seniors Kyle Schubert, Grant Dator and Tim Park prior to the start of Saturday’s action.
Ivy League competition returns on Saturday, Feb. 3 when the Big Green visit Columbia.

HANOVER, N.H. – University of Massachusetts swimming and diving finished its time at the Tate Ramsden Invitational, hosted by Dartmouth, on Saturday evening at the Karl Michael and Spaulding Pools.
Sophomore Andrew Bell and senior Juan Montori combined for three individual gold medals on the day, with Bell securing first in both the one- and three-meters dives and Montori placed first in the 100 breaststroke.
Women’s Swimming & Diving
Junior Anna Kwon started the day with a sixth-place finish in the 100 butterfly with a time of 56.98, while freshman Diya Ackerman-Vallala took fifth in the 400 individual medley, recording a time of 4:34.97.
Freshman Lindsay Burbage swam into fourth with a time of 1:05.81 in the 100 breaststroke, as senior Maggie Desmond followed in sixth in the event with a time of 1:07.49. In the 100 backstroke, senior Bri Williams swam a time of 57.74 to claim sixth.
Junior Anna Kwon finished the 100 freestyle in eighth with a season-best time of 53.41, while freshman Olga Stoura placed fifth in the 200 butterfly with a time of 2:12.16.
In the relay events, the 200 medley relay team of Williams, Ackerman-Vallala, senior Ashley Calderon and senior Caroline Mahoney recorded a time of 1:46.52 to finish in sixth.
Men’s Swimming & Diving
Junior Grant Beebe claimed the bronze medal in the 100 butterfly with a time of 50.93, with freshman Aydin Erkan (52.71) and senior Charles Blanc (52.73) placing fifth and sixth, respectively. Senior Sam Haddad picked up the silver in the 400 individual medley, completing the event with a time of 4:03.97.
In the 200 freestyle, sophomore Sammy Quigg took fourth with a time of 1:42.25, followed close behind by freshman Alonso Montori in fifth with a time of 1:43.62. Juan Montori took home one of three golds for the Minutemen, after finishing the 100 breaststroke with a time of 58.88. Fellow classmate Jack Artis claimed the silver medal in the event, recording a time of 59.33.
Senior Charles Blanc raced to sixth place with a time of 47.34 in the 100 freestyle, as Alonso Montori earned second-place in the 200 breaststroke with a personal-best time of 2:12.41. Juan Montori (1:51.85), Haddad (1:52.29) and Beebe (1:53.39) took second, third and fourth, respectively, in the 200 butterfly.
The 200 medley relay team of junior Beau Bengston, Artis, Beebe and Quigg finished third with a time of 1:33.54. Sophomore Aidan Shepston, graduate student Emerson Kiefer, senior Eric Eastham and Quigg raced into third in the 400 freestyle relay with a time of 3:08.36.
On The Boards
Bell registered a six-dive total of 310.40 in the one-meter dive, earning the gold medal. Bell also took first in the three-meter dive with a score of 387.85.
Massachusetts will return to the pool on Saturday, February 3, to face Atlantic 10 foe Fordham in Bronx, New York, at 1 p.m.

Massachusetts Swim & Dive Finish Day One At Tate Ramsden Invite

HANOVER, N.H. – University of Massachusetts swimming and diving completed day one of action at the Tate Ramsden Invitational, hosted by Dartmouth, at the Karl Michael and Spaulding Pools on Friday evening.
Women’s Swimming & Diving
Senior Megan Mitchell kicked off the day with a personal-best time of 5:13.19 in the 500 freestyle to finish 10th, before freshman Lindsay Burbage raced to ninth in the 200 individual medley with a time of 2:13.24. Senior Caroline Mahoney finished in the top-15 in the 50 freestyle, earning 11th with a time of 24.28.
The 200 freestyle relay team consisting of senior Ashley Calderon, Mitchell, Mahoney and senior Maggie Desmond combined for a time of 1:37.06 to take fifth place.
Men’s Swimming & Diving
Sophomore Sammy Quigg recorded a personal-best time of 4:42.43 in the 500 freestyle to finish fourth in the race. Graduate student Emerson Kiefer took fifth in the event with a time of 4:47.21, while freshman Aydin Erkan placed sixth with a time of 4:51.87
In the 200 individual medley, senior Sam Haddad grabbed the silver with a time of 1:54.64, as fellow classmates Juan Montori (1:58.30) and Jack Artis (1:59.48) placed fifth and sixth, respectively. Sophomore Aidan Shepston claimed fifth in the 50 freestyle, recording a time of 21.80, followed close behind by junior Grant Beebe in sixth with a time of 21.83.
In the only relay event of the day, the 200 freestyle relay team of Beebe, Shepston, senior Charles Blanc and Quigg completed a time of 1:24.61 to claim the silver medal. Finishing in fourth was the team consisting of junior Beau Bengston, Artis, Kiefer and Montori with a time of 1:27.05.
