Carson Foster ha nuotato ieri in Texas, ad Austin, durante il secondo giorno del Southern Sectionals il tempo di 4:08.46 nei 400 metri misti maschili, un tempo che l’avrebbe fatto vincere i Trials olimpici e qualificato per Tokyo.
Durante i Trials Foster ha chiuso al terzo posto, dietro Chase Kalisz e Jay Litherland. Poco più di un mese dopo ha messo a segno un tempo di un secondo più basso rispetto a quello che ha consentito a Kalisz di vincere l’evento ai Trials e qualificarsi per Tokyo.
Questo è il nuovo personal best di Foster e, se fosse stato nuotato prima, lo avrebbe posizionato terzo nella start list della gara a Tokyo.
