Springfield, Mass. – January 25, 2020 – In their final home meet of the season, the Springfield College men’s swimming and diving team came away with a victory over Holy Cross by a score of 161-126.
Connor Pennington (Monson, Mass.) swept the diving events again, winning the one-meter with a 330.83, and the three-meter with a 297.31. At the other end of the pool, James Chan (Hong Kong) picked up three individual wins, the 200 fly with a time of 1:55.74, the 100 fly with a 52.40, and finally the 200 yard IM with a time of 2:05.19.
The 400 medley relay team of Owen Oldenburg (East Longmeadow, Mass.), Anthony Soares (Worcester, Mass.), Chan and Sean Harnish (Middlebury, Conn.) placed first with a time of 3:39.28. Oldenburg added the 100 back victory, posting a time of 55.77, while Soares produced a time of 1:03.60 in 100 breast. Harnish came away with the 200 back victory, with a 2:03.42, while in the 1000 free, Erik Jensen (Hainesport, N.J.) won with a 10:23.73. Nicholas Smith (Longmeadow, Mass.) finished first in the 200 free with a time of 1:49.41, while also finishing first in the 500 free with a 4:58.37. Dominic Marco (Bath, Maine) posted a 22.69 in the 50 free and also delivered a 49.78 in the 100 free and Michael Allo (Newington, Conn.) turned in a 2:17.93 in the 200 breast.
To conclude the meet, Marco, Jensen, Smith and Harnish sprinted a 3:17.90 in the 400 free relay.
Springfield prepares for their regular season finale next Sunday at Amherst College.

Springfield, Mass.-January 25, 2020 – In their final home meet of the year, the Springfield College women’s swimming and diving team was clipped by Holy Cross, 183-117, on Saturday in the Linkletter Natatorium.
Grace Moore (Glastonbury, Conn.), Elizabeth Fraser (Westfield, Mass.), Brianna Magee (Hauppauge, N.Y.), and Mikaili Charlemagne (Gros Islet, St. Lucia) began the day posting a 4:07.40 in the 400 medley relay. Moore later swam a 1:01.29 in the 100 back, and took victory in the 200 back with a 2:12.55. Fraser won the 100 breast with a 1:10.85, while Charlemagne sprinted a time of 25.15 in the 50 free, along with a 55.74 in the 100 free.
Bailee Carey (Quincy, Mass.) finished at the top of both diving events, taking the three-meter diving event with a score of 225.90, and the one-meter with a score of 230.93. Lefteri Roba (Worcester, Mass.) took home the 1000 free with a time of 10:49.70, while also taking first in the 200 breast with a time of 2:28.93 and placing third in the 500 free in 5:24.14.
In the 200 free, Bri Boulerice (New Ipswich, N.H.) turned in a 2:06.70, Madisen Crowley (Manchester, Conn.) completed the 200 fly in 2:16.23 and the 100 fly in 1:03.04, and Izzy Ripp (Selden, N.Y.) was the runner-up in the 200 IM in 2:17.68.The 400 free relay team of Moore, Magee, Ripp, and Charlemagne registered a 3:45.83 finish time.
Springfield will conclude their regular season schedule next Sunday at Amherst College.

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – The Holy Cross swimming and diving teams split a pair of meets at Springfield Saturday afternoon. The women posted a 183-117 win, while the men lost by a score of 161-126.
HIGHLIGHTS:
- A team of Katy Saladin, Isabella Miko-Rydzaj, Madalyn Piasecki, and Kayleigh Hoagland won the 400 medley relay (4:06.71).
- Miko-Rydzaj and Piasecki were also a part of the 400 free relay team that took first (3:43.21) along with Emily Sullivan and Fiona Walsh.
- Miko-Rydzaj also won the 200 fly (2:14.01), while Piasecki claimed the 100 fly (1:01.07).
- Hoagland took first in the 50 free (25.02) and the 500 free (5:17.01).
- Sullivan won the 200 IM (2:16.20).
- Alicia Vesey and Emily Skilton tied for first in the 100 free with identical times of 55.72. Vesey also won the 200 free (2:00.92).
- Rounding out the victories for the women was Lauren Moran in the 100 back (1:01.02).
- On the men’s side, Nathan Kramer, Michael Brennan, Christian Realbuto, Ben Fox combined for the win in the 400 free relay (3:17.89).
- Fox also won the 50 free (22.66).
- Mack Sullivan took first in two individual events including the 100 breast (1:01.01) and the 200 breast (2:15.46).
- Kaikea Wilinski finished first in the 200 back (2:03.40).
