Irvine NOVA’s Amanda Hsieh Commits to Penn Quakers

Irvine, California’s Amanda Hsieh has verbally committed to the application process* at the University of Pennsylvania. She will join fellow commits Anna Feng and Lyndsey Reeve in the class of 2023.

“I’m incredibly excited to announce my verbal commitment to study and swim at the University of Pennsylvania! I’m super grateful to everyone who has supported me this far. I can’t wait for the next four years! Go Quakers!”

Hsieh is a two-time USA Scholastic All-American out of Northwood High School, where she holds school records in the 100 free (51.14), 200 free (1:50.15), 200 IM (2:04.74), 200 free relay (23.61 leadoff), and 400 free relay (51.26 anchor). At the 2018 CIF-Southern Section Division I Championships in May, she was runner-up in the 100 free (51.14) and finished 5th in the 200 free (1:50.15).

In club swimming, where she represents Irvine Novaquatics, Hsieh finished long-course season with a slew of new times: 50 free, 100 free, 200 free, and 200 fly. She competed at USC’s Los Angeles Invite in the 50/100/200 free, 100 fly, and 200/400 IM and finaled in the 100 free, 200 free, and 400 IM. Her best SCY times would have scored for the Quakers at 2018 Ivy League Women’s Championships in the C finals of the 100 free, 200 free, 200 fly, and 200 IM.
