Race Videos: Watch Alex Valente and Abbey Weitzeil At The CIF-SS Div 1 Championships

Bryant Lum was on hand at the CIF-SS Division 1 State Championships over the weekend and was able to capture race footage of Dos Pueblos’ Alex Valtente and Saugus’ Abbey Weitzeil. To view his youtube channel with other race videos from over the weekend, click here.

Valente is SwimSwam’s #10 recruit in the high school class of 2015 and has committed to swim for USC. Over the weekend he won the men’s 100 freestyle with a time of 46.00.

Weitzeil won the girls 50 freestyle, breaking her own National High School record in the 50 freestyle. She broke the public HS record in prelims with a time of 21.83, and then lowered it again tonight with a 21.64. The public high school record is now more than a half second faster than the private school record.

Not long after breaking her record in the 50 freestyle, she was back up on the blocks for the 100 freestyle. She ran away with the girl’s 100 freestyle, winning the race with a new national record time of 47.33. She broke her own national HS record from prelims of 47.53. Watch her 100 freestyle below:

Incredible 100 fly for Alex Valente in 46.00, .13 fast than Seliskar. Hopefully he will go under Caeleb Dressel’s public school record of 45.89

Apparently I’ve expressed too many opinions on SwimSwam, so I’ve got “haters” here who downvote everything I write, CoachErik, but thanks for your comment! 🙂

I think there are people who downvote everything.. maybe just for trolling or just some emotional attachment.. I imagine people like. Damn, the guy 1 won, and people posted complimenting the winner, but My favorite is guy 2 who lost!! How dare anyone celebrate the victory of guy 1? I will downvote!!!!

Danjohnrob, I beat you easily at that game. And it’s an honor for me. 😆
Anyway, that’s the limit of that useless kind of tools.
The haters ruin everything.
But not important. Let them have fun! They’ve found a hobby to spend their days.
