Please keep your swimming program. We teach our kids the importance of hard work and swimming reinforces it. Not football, not basket ball or even base ball require the hours of dedication that swimming does. Think about how important it is to the next group of workers. Swimmers are know for their hard work and studious habits.
Thank you so much to SwimSwam for posting this video! Here’s to hoping bigger names in the sport will catch on and spread this even further so we can save another family from being cut. #savecofcswimanddive
Alex,
We are all so proud of you. Thank you for all you have given us at UMBC and the swimming community as a whole!
To All,
Let’s fight for College of Charleston Swimming and Diving. Let’s fight for college swimming. Our community has been able to do it before….We can do it again.
Good luck in your battle with the admin. I was at Eastern Kentucky University in 1987 when they cut the program there, completely brought my world tumbling down. Be sure to remind your institution that NONE of your alumni funds will go to a school that dumps you. Alumni dollars speak louder than those od the current students they are supposed to be serving. Breaks my heart this is still going on after all this time.
It’s incredible that well renowned college coaches and Rowdy Gaines are commenting and signing the petition. Let’s get this around to the Olympians and major contributors to our sport quickly. Even a small school like CofC contributes to the larger community. So pay it forward from all of us who received so much from college Swimming & Diving.
