Micaela Roemer a senior at Clear Creek High School and the South Shore Sails in League City, Texas has given her verbal commitment to the Horned Frogs of Texas Christian University. Roemer will join the TCU Horned Frogs in the Fall for the 2015-2016 season.

Roemer specializes in the sprint freestyle and butterfly events. She is a Winter Junior National qualifier and a NCSA Junior National finalist and boasts best times of 23.7 in the 50 freestyle, 51.5 in the 100 freestyle, 25.1 in the 50 butterfly, and 55.4 in the 100 butterfly. She also can move up to the 200 freestyle or 200 butterfly if needed with bests of 1:52.9 in the 200 freestyle and 2:06.5 in the 200 fly.

Her progression in her four top events for the past 3 years:

50 Free

24.47 (2012) -> 24.13 (2013) -> 23.73 (2014)

100 Free

53.07 (2012) -> 51.89 (2013) -> 51.57 (2014)

50 Fly

25.84 (2013) -> 25.13 (2014)

100 Fly

57.65 (2012) -> 56.20 (2013) -> 55.40 (2014)

Roemer’s current 100 butterfly time would tie for their top time from last season (junior Hannelore Strash 55.40 A.A. Invite), but TCU did add Emily Gibson to their roster this season who has a best of 55.19. Strash, Gibson, and Roemer should compete in the next couple of years for the Horned Frogs team record of 54.33 in the 100 fly. Roemer will make an immediate impact on the Horned Frogs sprint freestyle relays.
