The 2014 Warrior Games brought together more than 200 service members who are wounded, injured or ill to compete in a major Paralympic competition at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs.
Athletes competed for their branches of service, with the Marines featuring both of the biggest winners in the pool. Kyle Reid and Maryann Miller picked up 3 wins each in the open class.
Reid won the 50 free (26.68), 100 free (1:00.93) and 50 breast (36.39), and also took second in the 50 back with a 35.36. Army’s Rhoden Galloway won that event with a 33.44.
Miller, meanwhile, took three events on the women’s side. Her events were the 50 free (31.37), 100 free (1:12.73) and 50 back (39.45). The only event she didn’t claim was the 50 breast, where Kawaiola Nahale of the Army picked up the win in 47.32.
