Australia and England have swapped out all four legs from this morning, so none of the swimmers who were part of a battle which saw the two separated by just 0.15 seconds return. Surprisingly, it is Tom Dean who could be the biggest miss. He split 47.99 for England on the anchor this morning and was 46.70 on this relay four years ago.
Flynn Southam leads off for the Aussies, up against Jacob Mills for England, while veteran James Guy will swim up against Kai Taylor on the second leg. Newcomers Gabriel Shepherd and Harrison Turner face off on the third leg, before Kyle Chalmers and Jacob Whittle lead their teams home.
Canada retain their quartet from the heats, while South Africa make one change. Pieter Coetze comes in on the leadoff leg for Kris Mihaylov, who was 49.64 this morning, meaning Chad le Clos continues on the anchor leg. Coetze owns a lifetime best of 47.88.
Scotland bring in Duncan Scott, Evan Jones, and Matt Ward, keeping only Dean Fearn after he split 49.11 this morning. They will feel that bronze is in sight, with Jones and Scott looking good in the 200 IM this morning.
Malaysia and the Cayman Islands keep their four swimmers from the heats, while the Isle of Man’s swimmers are not available to view on the start lists. Joel Watterson, Harry Robinson, Magnus Kelly, and Peter Allen were their quartet this morning.
