Just like in the men’s event, Australia and England have swapped out all four swimmers. Australia look the red-hot favorites, bringing in Meg Harris, Shayna Jack, Alex Perkins, and Mollie O’Callaghan. Of note, the Commonwealth Games record stands at 3:30.05 and could be in danger tonight.
England bring in Texas freshman Eva Okaro, Freya Colbert, Leah Schlosshan, and Freya Anderson. Colbert split 53.16 at the British Universities Championships in February, while Okaro won the Aquatics GB Championships in 53.75.
Wales put Theodora Taylor on the leadoff leg, where she will aim to undercut her Welsh record of 54.20. She replaces Medi Harris from the quartet this morning. Scotland keep only Lucy Hope, adding Evelyn Davis, junior swimmer Emma Wood, and 2022 200 backstroke bronze medalist Katie Shanahan. Wood won European Junior silver in 54.61 two weeks ago, so watch out for her on the second leg.
South Africa are the #5 seeds, but look the slight favorite for bronze. Aimee Canny replaces Georgia Nel on the leadoff, which should be worth around two seconds, and Jessica Thompson and Caitlin de Lange make way for Erin Gallagher and Olivia Nel. Nel split 53.6 at the World University Games last summer while Gallagher is the African record holder with a 54.23 from the 2018 Games.
Northern Ireland replace Ellie McCartney with Grace Davison, swapping their slowest morning leg for the Irish record holder. Guernsey and the Cayman Islands return all four swimmers from this morning.
