The final stop of the 2026 Mare Nostrum tour is here and competition kicked off this morning in Barcelona.

After becoming the #2 performer all-time in the 100 free earlier this week in Canet at stop 2, Marrit Steenbergen is the top seed for the race tonight after a 53.94 this morning. That was faster than her prelims swim of a 54.10 in Canet. She went on to swim a 51.86 in finals to break her own Dutch record as well. Milou Van Wijk (54.49) is the #2 seed and Siobhan Haughey is the #3 seed (54.58). Haughey swam to a Mare Nostrum record in the 200 free in Canet.

New Zealand’s Erika Fairweather is in search of a sweep in the women’s 400 free and swam to a 4:10.04 this morning, a time that is in line with her prelims swims from Monaco (4:07.79) and Canet (4:10.32).

Taylor Ruck of Canada won the 50 fly in Canet with a 26.11 and was already faster today in prelims with a 25.91. She was a 26.17 in prelims back in Canet.

Fellow Canadian Alexanne Lepage swam the top seed in the 100 breast after a 1:07.50. She was 2nd in Canet with a 1:06.42 in the final to finish behind McKenzie Siroky of the US who won in a 1:06.31. Siroky swam a 1:07.80 this morning.

American Leah Shackley swam to a 28.39 this morning in the 50 back, already faster than her 28.58 she swam in Canet during finals. Shackley won the 200 back in Canet and is the #4 seed in the event tonight with a 2:13.09 from this morning. Canada’s Madison Kryger is the top seed in the 200 back after a 2:10.58.

Mary-Sophie Harvey could sweep the 200 IM if she wins here as she swam to a 2:12.25 this morning. She won the event in Canet with a 2:09.20. The final top seed for tonight on the women’s side is Laura Cabanes Garzas who swam a 2:10.05 in the 200 fly.

The men’s 200 free is set to be a strong race tonight. Americans Gabe Jett (1:47.78) and Patrick Sammon (1:48.47) sit as the #1 and 3 seeds tonight with Duncan Scott in the middle of them after a 1:48.31 this morning. Sammon won in a lifetime best 1:46.48 back in Canet while Jett won in a 1:46.81 back in Monaco.

Ilya Kharun did not swim the 100 fly in Monaco and finished 2nd in Canet with a 50.79 to touch behind Kristof Milak‘s 50.73. Kharun is the top seed today with a 51.54 from this morning, touching ahead of Chad Le Clos who swam to a 52.66. Milak is not racing in Barcelona.

Quintin McCarty and Andrej Barna are set for another showdown in the 50 free. McCarty won the final in Monaco with a 21.43 while Barna won in a 21.57 in Canet. Barna had the top time in prelims with a 21.76, ahead of McCarty’s 21.96.

Caspar Corbeau did not swim in Canet but won the 200 breast in Monaco with a 2:09.11 ahead of Kirill Prigoda who was 2nd in a 2:09.51. Prigoda won in Canet in a 2:10.16. The two swam to the top two seeds this morning as Corbeau swam a 2:12.23 and Prigoda a 2:12.33.

Miron Lifintsev is the top seed in the 100 back with a 54.49 this morning. He won in Canet with a 53.33 in finals and swam a 54.59 in prelims in Canet.

Ivan Kozhakin swam to the top seed in the 50 breast with a 26.91 and Gabor Zombori the top seed in the 400 IM with a 4:25.97.
