Van Mathias on 50 Breast American Record: “It leaves us wanting more… for Pan Pacs”

2026 Bergen Swim Festival

Van Mathias surprised many, including himself, this weekend in Bergen. He started by throwing down a 58.19 100 Breast to scare the American record before breaking the AR in the 50 Breast two days later with a 26.39. After having qualified for Pan Pacific Championships with his swims at Nationals last summer, Mathias is now even more motivated to throw down in Irvine this August.
