Luka Jovanovic of Serbia has announced his commitment to continue his academic and athletic careers at North Carolina beginning in fall 2026.

Jovanovic has represented Serbia at the international level including at the 2025 World Junior Championships. There he was 23rd in the 100 fly (54.57), 32nd in the 50 fly (24.94), and 34th in the 100 free (50.71). Back in July, he also swam at the 2025 World Championships. He was 52nd in the 100 fly with a 54.84 and also split a 49.16 100 free on the men’s 4×100 free relay for Serbia that finished 15th.
Jovanovic’s Best LCM Times (With SCY Conversions) Are:
- 100 fly: 53.52 (46.95)
- 100 free: 50.13 (43.72)
- 50 free: 23.39 (20.35)
The North Carolina men finished 8th out of 15 teams at the 2026 ACC Championships with 572.5 points, only five points behind 7th place finish. The UNC men were led by Louis Dramm who scored 72 individual points including a 3rd place finish in the 200 IM (1:41.40).
Based on his best converted times, Jovanovic would have just missed finaling at the 2026 ACC Championships as it took a 46.43 in the 100 fly and a 42.67 in the 100 free to earn a 2nd swim. Jovanovic’s best converted time in the 100 fly would have been 3rd on the team this past season while his 100 free would have been 7th. The 100 fly was the team’s 2nd lowest scoring event at ACCs as they scored three points.
Jovanovic will arrive this fall as a member of the class of 2030 along with Kuba Shaw, Yofang Yu, Jackson DeBruin, Isaac Carsel, Blake Hill, and Evan Gluck.
