CARY, N.C. — March 2026 — Triangle Aquatic Center (TAC) is pleased to announce the addition of two new members to its Board of Directors: David Fox and John Collins. Both join TAC’s governance leadership this month as the organization continues to grow its impact on competitive swimming and aquatics programming across the Triangle region.
“We are thrilled to welcome David and John to our board,” said Derek Wall, Executive Director of Triangle Aquatic Center. “Their combined experience in athletics, finance, community development, and public service will be tremendously valuable as we continue to serve our athletes, families, and the broader aquatics community.”
David Fox brings an exceptional athletic and financial pedigree to the board. A former member of the USA Swimming National Team for six years, Fox set a world record and earned a Gold medal as part of the 1996 U.S. Olympic Team in Atlanta. Professionally, he leads Goldman Sachs Ayco, a market-leading company-sponsored financial planning firm, and serves as a senior advisor to its Institutional Client Solutions business. He also serves as a trustee of the USA Swimming Foundation. Fox holds an MBA from UNC’s Kenan-Flagler Business School and a BS in Civil Engineering from NC State University, where he captained the men’s swimming team and was an NCAA champion.
John Collins is a Cary native who brings deep community roots and decades of service leadership to the board. A graduate of Cary High School and NC State University, Collins began his career teaching high school biology and spent more than 20 years with the YMCA before joining the Town of Cary, where he currently serves as Director of Parks, Recreation, and Cultural Resources. His broad experience in community programming and recreation makes him a natural fit for TAC’s mission.
TAC’s Board of Directors provides strategic oversight and governance for one of the nation’s premier USA Swimming clubs. The TAC TITANS have a long track record of developing elite competitive swimmers, with approximately 49% of alumni going on to compete at the collegiate level. The TITANS are consistently ranked amongst the top three swim clubs in the nation.
