9x Georgia 1-3A State Champion Annie Jardina Verbally Commits to Navy (2022)

Fitter and Faster Swim Camps is the proud sponsor of SwimSwam’s College Recruiting Channel and all commitment news. For many, swimming in college is a lifelong dream that is pursued with dedication and determination. Fitter and Faster is proud to honor these athletes and those who supported them on their journey.

Atlanta, Georgia’s Annie Jardina has announced her verbal commitment to the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis for 2022-23. She wrote on social media:

“I’m thrilled to share my verbal commitment to swim at the U.S. Naval Academy! I’m beyond grateful for this amazing opportunity and the support from my coaches, teammates, and family. I can’t wait to be a part of the NWSD program as well as pursue serving my country. Go Navy!! Beat Army!!💙💛⚓️ #nwsd #next4”

Jardina is a junior at Westminster School where she runs track and swims. She won the 50 free (23.43) and 100 free (51.42) and swam legs on two state-champion relays (22.68 anchor on the 200 medley relay; 50.64 anchor on the 400 free relay) at the 2021 GHSA 1-3A State Swimming & Diving Meet in February. Last season as a sophomore, she won the 50 free (23.51), placed 3rd in the 100 free, anchored the winning 200 free relay (22.95), and swam the third leg on the winning 400 free relay (51.42). In 9th grade, she contributed to state titles in the 200 free relay (23.47 split) and 400 free relay (51.47 split).

Jardina does her club swimming with SwimAtlanta. A highly versatile swimmer, she is a Winter Juniors qualifier in the 200 back and a Futures qualifier in the 100 free, 200 free, 100 breast, and 200 IM. After going lifetime bests in the 50/100 free at high school States, she notched PBs in the 200 free, 100/200 back, and 100 breast at the Georgia Senior Short Course State Championships in March. Before that, she had a strong showing at 18&U Winter Championships last December, placing 5th in the 50 free, 3rd in the 100 free, 9th in the 200 free, 3rd in the 100 back, and 3rd in the 200 back.

Best SCY times:

  • 100 back – 56.77
  • 200 back – 2:00.54
  • 50 free – 23.43
  • 100 free – 51.42
  • 200 free – 1:52.05
  • 100 breast – 1:04.85
  • 200 IM – 2:06.40

The 2021 Patriot League Championships have been postponed to late April, but at the 2020 conference meet, Jardina’s best times would have scored in the A finals of the 50 free, 200 back, and 100 breast, and the B finals of the 200 free, 100 back and 200 IM.
