Preston Lin from Peachtree Corners, Georgia has announced on social media his intention to swim for George Washington University beginning in the fall of 2022.
Lin is a rising senior at Norcross High School.
He does his year-round swimming with Spartans Aquatic Club in Atlanta and specializes in breast, fly, and IM. In February, he won the 100 breast at the 2021 Georgia High School 7A State Championships, going 54.71 and improving 1.5 seconds from his second-place finish at the 2020 state meet. He swam the 50 free this year, instead of the 200 IM, and finished 8th with 21.66. Both his 100 breast and 50 free were lifetime bests.
Lin was a member of the SPAC medley relay that broke two NAG records in March.
Since the beginning of his junior year of high school, Lin has improved his PBs in the SCY 50/100 free, 100 back, 50/100/200 breast, 50/100 fly, and 100/200 IM as well as the LCM 50 free, 50/200 breast, and 50/100 fly.

GWU competes in the Atlantic-10 conference, which the men won in 2021 for the fourth time in five years. Lin would have made the A finals of the 100 breast and 200 breast and will join a strong group of Buff and Blue breaststrokers, including Tyler Kawakami and Eddie Cosic.
