There is just one day left of the 2025 NCAA Division I Conference season, and the men have officially passed the women in overall totals with the men coming to 76 total invited while the women sit at 69.
Friday night saw six new women get added to the meet, four from mid-major schools and two from the Big 12. Cameron Snowden, from UNC Wilmington won the women’s 100 fly at the Coastal Athletic Association Championships, touching in 52.06.
The MAC saw two more qualifiers, on top of their two from yesterday. Ohio University’s Zita Szoke won the 200 freestyle in 1:44.74, and Akron’s Claire Cox swam 59.59 to win the 100 breaststroke.
Maria Erokhina was the first female qualifier from the MPSF, swimming 59.96 in the 100 breaststroke to come in under the 1:00.30 standard.
**Update: 2/28 — The article originally listed Princeton’s Mitchell Schott as a new qualifier in the 200 free despite already qualifying in the 200 IM on Thursday.
The men picked up 14 new qualifiers, ten of which came from mid-major conferences. The Ivy League picked up three new qualifications. Cornell’s Blake Conway won the 100 back (45.77), Penn’s Watson Nguyen won the 100 breast (51.18), and Brown’s Marton Nagy won the 400 IM (3:41.89).
The MPSF had the 2nd most qualifiers with three new men. Wyoming’s Simon Casey swam the top time in the 200 freestyle of 1:33.80 to become the 3rd Wyoming swimmer to qualify. Tanner Wilson and James Winterfield both qualified for the Air Force Academy with Wilson swimming 52.19 in the 100 breast and Winterfield swimming 46.06 in the 100 fly.
**As a reminder. Athletes are added under the first event they earn an NCAA qualification in. Once in the meet, they only count as one athlete regardless of how many AQs they pick up. Some swimmers might have faster times in other events that come in under the invite time, but every swimmer will be listed under their first event.
This list is compiled by hand, so there might be mistakes. Let us know in the comments if you think we missed anyone

Phew!
C. Curzan, K. Grimes, A. Moesch made doubly sure to qualify for the 2026 NCAA DI Women’s Swimming & Diving Championships.
Aside from S. Curtis, the other fourteen (14) women on the ACC Swimming & Diving Championships roster will have to sweat it out until the psych sheets are released.
There has to be a Monty Python sketch that parodies this scenario.
What a ridiculous take! Entering this weekend, 14 UVA swimmers were seeded to score at NCAAs. I don’t think any of them need to worry. Of the rest of the ACC roster three others would have a seed 21 or better. The last ACC roster member, Katie Christopherson, is unlikely to be seeded high enough for an invite, which leaves one more spot with likely two candidates: Melissa Nwakalor and Lana Pudar. I don’t think 14 women will be sweating it out.
Basically DEI for slow swimmers
This has quickly become such a tiresome and immature retort around here. How exactly is an NCAA B cut at the Division 1 level “slow”? Many of us welcome this change. One could argue that mid-major and less prominent Power 4 schools and conferences also don’t have the benefit of the fastest swimmers in the world swimming in their heat to drag them along to a faster time. The entire Division 1 cohort was notified of these changes many months ago, and had time to adapt their expectations and training accordingly. Last but not least, life is never 100% “fair”. Even with this adjustment, swimming still remains one of the least subjective sports out there.
I’m just saying they don’t belong at the meet. Letting these slower swimmers in cheapens the accomplishment of qualifying for the meet.
It’s like when the 3rd world countries have swimmers at worlds. Cool for them but it has no meaning and contributes nothing to the sport.
Calling them “3rd world” misses the point. Not every country has the same funding or facilities, so u can’t compare them equally. When those countries have swimmers at Worlds, it shows diversity and promotes equity. When u invite slower swimmers at ncs that come from well funded programs and have similar resources and backgrounds as everyone else, that’s just called lowering the standard.
This comment is ridiculous. A swim meet on any level is not about funding, facilities, resources, diversity, or equity. Its only about how fast you can swim and what the clock says when the event is over.
What are the rules for qualifying? How can UVA only have 4 qualifiers and NC State only 1 qualifier in the womenns meet. That would seem to be wrong.
This article isn’t talking about who has a qualifying time for the NCAA Championship. It is talking about who has a guaranteed invitation based on being an individual conference champion with a qualifying time in the final. NC State had only one individual women’s champion. Virginia had four individuals win titles, although three of them won two each. The article shows only the first of these.
After each institution submits which events each swimmer might swim (no more than three) and all these automatic qualifiers are put into the Championship, the rest will be filled out in each event in time rank order based on official times through the end of this weekend (the men’s deadline is next weekend).
