The pre-scratch psych sheets are now available for the Wolfpack Elite Invitational, which is set to kick off on Thursday, November 20 and run through Saturday, November 22 at the Greensboro Aquatic Center.
There’s nothing too surprising in the psych sheets, as most swimmers are over-entered in their typical events, making it unclear which three they will ultimately swim.
The one exception is NC State sophomore Erika Pelaez, who is entered in two of her usual events—the 100 butterfly and 200 backstroke—along with the 200 freestyle, which she swims occasionally. However, the new addition is the 500 free, an event she’s competed in at several dual meets this year but rarely before this season. Whether this is due to the new NCAA lineup rules or a shift in focus remains to be seen, but it’s definitely something to watch as the meet and season unfold.
She is not entered in the 100 backstroke, an event that she placed 11th in at last year’s NCAA Championship meet, nor the sprint freestyles.
