With an enormous number of upsets and surprises over the last two days, the standings in our Pick ‘Em contest have shifted dramatically.  SprintSwammer1992 now holds the lead with 201 points, with the ever-patriotic Usausausa running second with 196 points.

  • No surprises in the men’s 200 backstroke; Ryan Murphy and Mitch Larkin were the two top picks from our readers
  • The G.O.A.T. came through again in the 200 IM, as our readers expected he would; 430 contestants (~86%) picked him to win.
  • Ryan Lochte missing out on a medal meant missed points for a lot of contestants.  470 entrants (94%) picked him to get a medal
  • Just two readers picked China’s Shun Wang to win a 200 IM medal
  • The shocker of the night was Simone Manuel and Penny Oleksiak sharing a title in the women’s 100 freestyle; just two readers picked Manuel to win, and nobody had Oleksiak winning gold (or even silver)
