LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Men’s and women’s swimming combined to win 21 events on the way to a sweep of Bellarmine in Louisville on Saturday afternoon.

  • Jon BernardEthan SaundersAiden Leamer and Kyle Hudson opened the meet on the men’s side with a win in the 400 medley relay, setting a time of 3:24.39.
  • Andrew Martin won the a pair of events, winning the 100 free with a time of 47.12 and setting a time of 9:32.53 in the 1,000 free to place first.
  • Jon Bernard won a pair of events, taking the 200 free with a season-best time of 1:44.04 and the 200 breast with a time 2:05.27.
  • Davis Klein swept the breaststroke events, taking the 100 back with a time of 52.49 and the 200 free with a time of 1:55.13.
  • Roark Lundal won the 100 breast with a time of 58.01.
  • Jack Parker led the Musketeers in the 200 fly with a time of 1:57.06, placing third.
  • Kyle Hudson led Xavier in the 50 free with a time of 21.79, placing second.
  • Nathan Wall won the 500 free with a time of 4:44.16 and lead Xavier in the 400 IM with a season-best time of 4:06.32 to place second.
  • Aiden Leamer led the Musketeers in the 100 fly, placing second with a time of 50.79.
  • Aiden LeamerGage HannewykKyle Hudson and Andrew Martin won the 200 free relay to close the meet, setting a time of 1:25.63.
  • Xavier won on the men’s side by a score of 173-88.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Bellarmine swimming competed at home for the final time this season and honored 11 seniors prior to Saturday’s dual versus Xavier.

The Xavier women emerged victorious 187-74, while the Xavier men’s team also came out on top 173-88.

The following Bellarmine seniors competed for the final time at the Mary T. Meagher Aquatic Center:

The Knights claimed seven first place finishes between both squads and 21 top-three finishes.

Notable finishes for the women’s team included:
Alexandra Pierce – 1st place in the 100 breaststroke (1:06.73), 1st in the 200 breaststroke (2:25.20)
Caroline McMillin – 1st place in the 400 IM (4:39.70)
Morgan Bender – 2nd place in the 200 breaststroke (2:30.05)
Luiza Bonardi – 2nd place in the 1000 freestyle (11:02.74), 2nd in the 200 butterfly (2:11.23), 3rd in the 400 IM (4:49.26)
Anna Holt – 2nd place in the 200 freestyle (1:58.00)
Liz Stevenson – 3rd place in the 100 backstroke (1:01.53), 3rd in the 50 freestyle (25.09)
Lauren Diercks – 3rd place in the 200 backstroke (2:11.18)

Notable finishes for the men’s team included:
Jacob Dray – 1st in the 100 butterfly (49.75), 2nd in the 200 butterfly (1:55.74)
Cason Henderson – 1st in the 200 butterfly (1:53.71)
Brandon Thomas – 1st place in the 400 IM (4:06.21), 2nd in the 200 freestyle (1:44.95)
Will O’Connor – 1st place in the 50 freestyle (21.70)
Sam Jones – 2nd place in the 1000 freestyle (9:52.69), 2nd in the 500 freestyle (4:50.45)
John Paul Metzner – 2nd place in the 100 breaststroke (1:00.03)
Liam Connelly – 3rd place in the 1000 freestyle (9:58.27)

Bellarmine will head to Indiana next weekend with a road dual at Ball State on Saturday at 12:00 p.m.
