As for the NCAA, the hopes of the University of Virginia women’s swimming program depends on whether Katie Grimes will swim to her potential (4:28.27, 3:57.02, 1:52.28, 1:42.90).

Colemans internet dies more often than Trenton Julian in a 200 fly.

To me Liendo’s performances in Toronto just establishes that he is the Canadian Caeleb Dressel

To me Liendo WR was more impressive than Lani. Lani’s WR was great but Ledecky wasn’t in the race. Liendo took down Ponti’s WR while also busting his triple crown attempt.

by that thinking that makes Kaylee’s the most impressive. Not only was the previous world record holder in the pool but she also went under the old record. Twice.

Can’t dispute it, that WR was more impressive than Lani also.

Oof I didn’t actually realise how close Pan PACs and Commies were. I thought there was like a month but there’s only 13 days between.

I imagine a few will be able to hold a taper for both while many will be much better at one or the other

Did y’all talk about AOC cooking Riley Gaines?

Someone on Reddit suggested that she should change her name to Riley Losses.

Does the time converter have different results depending which way you convert? Lani said her 8:05 converted to a 7:53, but converting her 7:54 converts to a 8:03?

Classic
LC-SC: 7:53.18
SC-LC: 8:06.80

Real-Time
LC-SC: 7:56.56
SC-LC: 8:03.66

I would still say that 8:05.98 is relatively better than 7:54.00

I predict the 2026 Pan Pacs to be sparsely attended by foreign athletes since the Commonwealth Games (AUS, CAN, NZL) precedes the Pan Pacs and the Asian Games will be a higher priority for HKG, JPN, KOR.

Canada have already said they are only sending 12 swimmers to CGs and are focusing on PPs. Summer is only swimming PPs. British swimmers will have Euros a few weeks afterward CGs and will likely aim to peak for those, given the better competition and more prestige. I think you will also find the Aussies will aim to peak at PPs given the lack of competition at CGs. And the Asian swimmers will have 6-8 weeks between PPs and Asian Games so can tapers for both. Further, the PPs are in LA – not the pool that will be used for Olympics but still nations like Australia will use the meet as a first rehearsal for 2028.

Aussies definitely Comm Games. Pan Pacs dont rate a mention for sponsors and the general public. Not a hard choice. The only athletes that will target Pan Pacs might be one or two that can win at Comm Games without peaking.

Coleman Hodges

Coleman started his journey in the water at age 1, and although he actually has no memory of that, something must have stuck. A Missouri native, he joined the Columbia Swim Club at age 9, where he is still remembered for his stylish dragon swim trunks. After giving up on …
