Fitter and Faster Swim Camps is the proud sponsor of SwimSwam’s College Recruiting Channel and all commitment news. For many, swimming in college is a lifelong dream that is pursued with dedication and determination. Fitter and Faster is proud to honor these athletes and those who supported them on their journey.
Pilar King from Decatur, Georgia has announced her commitment to continue her academic and athletic careers at Arizona beginning in fall 2026.
“I’m super excited to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and athletic career at the University of Arizona. I would like to thank my friends and family for supporting me through this journey. This is an absolute dream come true! Special thanks to the coaching staff at the U of A for this amazing opportunity!! “
King swims for Spartans Aquatic Club and swam to a Georgia State title at the start of December, winning the 100 fly in a lifetime best 53.33. She also led off the team’s 200 medley relay in a 25.60 backstroke split. A week later, she swam a Winter Juniors-East and was highlighted by a 20th place finish in the 50 free (22.82) as well as a 23rd place finish in the 100 fly (54.85).
She most recently competed at the Georgia 4A State Championship while representing Southwest Dekalb High School. There she swam to state titles in the 50 free (22.57) and 100 back (54.29). Her 50 free marked a lifetime best. She was the first ever state champion for Southwest Dekalb.
King’s Best SCY Times:
- 50 free: 22.57
- 100 free: 49.35
- 100 fly: 53.33
- 100 back: 54.02
The Arizona women finished 2nd out of 10 teams at the 2026 Big 12 Championships. They finished with 1442.5 points while Arizona State captured the team title with 1660.5 points. Kayman Neal led the team and was highlighted by a win in the 200 back (1:52.44).
Based on her best times, King would have made the Big 12 ‘A’ final of the 100 fly, 100 free, 50 free, and 100 back. Arizona had a strong 100 freestyle group this past season with five swimmers making the ‘A’ final. They only had one ‘A’ finalist in the 100 fly.
King will arrive this fall as a member of the class of 2030 along with Lyla Lusk, Kingsley Rosevold, Lucy Flynn, Madison Ensing, Samantha Anderson, and Macey deGroot.
