HAMPTON, Va. — The William & Mary swimming teams had a perfect day at the Tribe Quad Meet on Friday afternoon, picking up four victories. The Tribe swept Old Dominion, 198-64 for the men and 222-40 for the women, while the women’s team dominated East Carolina and Richmond with scores of 208-86 and 211-83, respectively.
Lauren Tucker delivered a strong performance in the 1000 free, finishing in 10:00.02 for the second-fastest performance in school history. She improved her previous personal-best by over six seconds. On the men’s side, freshman Tyler Barritt moved up to fourth all-time in the 1000 free with his time of 9:21.72.
In the relay events, the 200 medley relay team of Julie Addison, Lindsay Juhlin, Lauren Klinefelter, and Caroline Burgeston continued its success with a first-place finish of 1:40.15, good for eighth-fastest in school history. W&M also won both 400 free relay events, with the men finishing in 3:01.26 and the women clocking in at 3:23.17.
NOTABLE RESULTS
- The Tribe swept the 100 back events, with Addison (54.15) and Thomas Duncan (49.30) both finishing first.
- In the 100 breast, Juhlin paced the field with a time of 1:01.32, while Brock Rempe led the men at 55.03.
- Grace McCardle registered a top-16 performance in the 200 back, clocking in at 2:00.01 for ninth all-time.
- Juhlin secured another victory in the 100 fly, timing out at 53.75
- Duncan was responsible for three event victories, taking first place in the 200 IM (1:50.70) along with the 200 back (1:48.21)
- David Yune posted the top time in the 200 free at 1:39.98.
- The Green & Gold had 25 event victories in total.

Hampton, Va. – The East Carolina swimming and diving team concluded competition in their penultimate regular season meet, emerging victorious in two of their three meets at the Tribe Quad Meet at the Hampton Aquaplex on Friday afternoon.
The Pirates fell to host William & Mary, 208-86, but defeated Old Dominion (247-47) and Richmond (174-125).
“We swam and dove very well,” head coach Matthew Jabs said. “I was surprised by some of the performances we saw today considering the intensity of practices our coaches have been putting them through. Winning two out of three meets is a solid weekend. One more meet in the regular season. Can’t wait to compete at home in front of our family and friends.”
East Carolina’s standout performers in the pool were Carlie Clements, Mikayla Durkin, Elena Dinehart and Sara Kalawska while Frida Zuniga and Cecelia Bragantini starred in the diving well with the latter setting an ECU freshman record in the 1-meter dive.

Lena Amare led the Spiders with a victory in the 200 IM, touching the wall first in 2:03.87 to earn a NIC B standard. Molly Blanchard followed with a third-place finish in 2:05.41.
In the 200 free, Amare led Richmond with a sixth-place finish in 1:52.69. Caitlyn Hughes placed ninth at 1:55.12, while Erin Budde finished 10th in 1:55.22.
In the 100 free, Presley Baber paced Richmond with a sixth-place finish in 52.50, while Julia Krichev placed seventh in 52.71. Hughes finished eighth at 53.00.
In the 50 free, Krichev led the Spiders with a sixth-place finish in 24.05. Baber finished seventh in 24.28, followed by Lydia Sturgeon in eighth at 24.39 and Hughes in ninth at 24.45.
Blanchard led Richmond in the 100 back with a sixth-place finish in 57.05. Hannah Wieczorek placed seventh at 57.23 and Caroline Weldon finished ninth in 57.73.
In the 200 fly, Kaitlyn Bauer finished seventh in 2:07.61. MaryAgnes Smith placed ninth at 2:09.14, while Kaitlyn Martin finished 11th in 2:11.99.
Gabbie Primiano led the Spiders in the 200 breast with a third-place finish in 2:21.86. Blanchard followed in seventh at 2:23.03, Trinity Schulze placed ninth in 2:28.56 and Budde finished 10th.
In the 100 breast, Primiano also led Richmond with a ninth-place finish in 1:06.40.
Natalie Stuart recorded a top Richmond finish in the distance events, placing fifth in the 1,000 free with a time of 10:28.52.
On the boards, Sally Harrington led the Spiders in the 3-meter dive with a score of 244.50 to finish sixth overall. Rachel Vandersea followed in seventh with a score of 239.40. In the 1-meter dive, Addie Grainger led Richmond with a fifth-place score of 240.75, while Harrington added a seventh-place finish with 236.25 points.
Richmond’s top relay performance came in the 400 free relay, where the A team finished fourth with a time of 3:30.68. In the 200 medley relay, the Spiders’ A team finished third in 1:44.86.
The Spiders will return to action as they travel to Villanova on Friday, Jan. 16.

HAMPTON, Va. – Bryce Mortimer and Zach Redding each won an event for Old Dominion University Swimming to lead the Monarchs in a tri-meet on Friday against William & Mary and East Carolina at the Hampton AquaPlex.
Mortimer earned ODU’s first victory of the night in the 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:02.78.
Redding followed with a win in the 100 butterfly with a time of 48.64, while Dawson Truong took fourth in a time of 50.03.
The meet started with the 200 medley relay as the team of Addie Elliott, Jadyn Whitt, Lauren Masters and Bella Pachek finished eighth with a time of 1:48.92.
The men’s 200 medley relay team of Mortimer, Toni Sallaku, Jordan Smolsky and Robby Young took third with a time of 1:33.39.
Sophia Kapla led the Monarchs in the 1000 women’s freestyle with a time of 10:48.30. She placed 12th in the 500 free with a time of 5:20.04.
Grey Bremer led the men’s 1000 free with a fourth place spot in a time of 9:47.78. Bremer placed second in the 500 free with a time of 4:36.85.
Arielle Grabowski finished 11th in the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:57.38, while Nick Martin led the men with a time of 1:43.58 to finish fourth. Grabowski also led the women in the 100 free by finishing in 54.37 to take 12th.
Pachek finished 12th in the women’s 100 backstroke with a time of 59.29, while Mortimer took fifth with a time of 52.16. She also finished 10th in the 50 free with a time of 24.50.
Whitt led the Monarchs with a seventh-place spot in the women’s 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:07.22.
Truong led the men’s squad by taking fourth with a time of 57.54.
In the women’s 200 butterfly, Anna Lupo took 10th with a time of 2:11.97. Zane Nall finished fifth for the men with a time of 2:00.27.
Redding finished in second place in the 50 free with a time of 20.04 and he also took second in the 100 free with a time of 43.97.
In the women’s 200 backstroke, Kristilynn Mosley finished ninth with a time of 2:07.13. Mosley took 10th in the 200 IM with a time of 2:13.46.
Mortimer placed third in the 200 IM with a time of 1:54.11.
Ben Schattenberg earned a fifth-place spot in the 200 backstroke with a time of 1:54.78.
Adrienne Rinker led the way in the women’s 200 breaststroke to finish 10th in a time of 2:29.97.
