Fitter and Faster Swim Camps is the proud sponsor of SwimSwam’s College Recruiting Channel and all commitment news. For many, swimming in college is a lifelong dream that is pursued with dedication and determination. Fitter and Faster is proud to honor these athletes and those who supported them on their journey.

Kyra Dalbo from Cary, North Carolina has made a verbal commitment to Davidson College for 2021-22.

“I couldn’t be more proud and excited to finally announce my commitment to continue my academic and athletic career at Davidson College!! I can’t wait to be a part of such an amazing team and community. A huge thank you to my coaches, teammates, family, and friends who’ve supported me and helped me get here! ❤️🖤 #gowildcats”

A senior at Green Hope High School, Dalbo is captain of the high school team. She swam the 500 free and 200 IM at high school Regionals. Dalbo now swims for Marlins of Raleigh, having switched from TAC Titans in spring 2019. She is a Sectionals qualifier and specializes in distance free, IM and fly and has made significant progress since she began training under Paul Silver at MOR. Beginning at the 2019 Zone Age Group Championships in Cary, she placed 6th in 400 free, 6th in 800 free, 6th in 200 fly, and 3rd in 400 IM and earned new PBs in the LCM 400 free and 200/400 IM. At Cary Sectionals in March 2020, she finished 14th in the mile and notched a PB in the 1000 free and 200m fly.

In August, Dalbo competed at TAC Titans Invitational and improved her time in 5 of the 6 events she swam, including a 20-second drop in the 1650. Last weekend at the MOR Atlantic Invitational, she scored new PBs in the 500 free, 200 back, 100 breast, and 200 fly.

Top SCY times:

  • 1650 free – 17:24.81
  • 1000 free – 10:31.33
  • 500 free – 5:07.52

Davidson had two A-finalists in the 400 IM, including conference champion Sarah Helen Shepherd. It took 4:27.09 to get a second swim in the 4IM.
