UNLV Returns to Action Saturday in San Diego

LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) – For the first time in 55 days the UNLV men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams will compete as a full roster as the Rebels will swim in a multi-team meet in San Diego on Saturday at 1 pm. UC San Diego is the host of the meet, which will include the host team (men and women), Grand Canyon (men and women), as well as the women’s teams from Boise State and San Diego State.
The last competition for UNLV was with a limited squad at the George Tech Invitational on Nov. 19-21. UNLV’s last dual meet competition was on Nov. 7 at Utah.

UNLV NOTES
 
• UNLV began the 2015-16 season with five straight away meets.
• UNLV returns to action for the first time as full team since a November 7 road dual meet at Utah
WOMEN – 
• Lina Rathsack is currently in first place in the Mountain West in the 100 Breast and 200 Breast. She is also fourth in the 200 IM and ninth in the 100 Fly. She was also named the CollegeSwimming.com National Swimmer of the Week on Dec. 21 for her performance at Cal State Easy Bay Christmas Invitational
•  Julia Fehervari is top five in the Mountain West in both the 50 and 100 Free
MEN – 
• Dillon Virva is second in the WAC in the 50 Free with a time of 19.78, which also ties him for 20th in the nation. He is also third in the 100 Fly and eighth in the 100 Free.
• Avi Cohen is third in the 200 Fly in the WAC.
• Boris Kulizhnikov is third in the 200 IM for the conference.
• UNLV has won ten conference championship meets in the past 11 seasons, including the final seven years of the Mountain West. The Rebels’ streak was narrowly broken in 2012 at the MPSF, but then won the 2013 MPSF title and the 2014 and 2015 WAC championship
