SOLO Aquatics freestyler/IMer Bryanna Cameron has given her verbal commitment to the UNC Tar Heels starting next fall.
Cameron’s best events are the 200 and 500 free as well as the 400 IM– she has Winter Juniors cuts in all three events.
Cameron’s Best Times
- 200 free – 1:50.28
- 500 free – 4:50.76
- 1000 free – 10:01.36
- 200 fly – 2:03.74
- 400 IM – 4:22.06
Cameron’s best times would’ve slated her 3rd in the 1000, 4th in the 200 free, and 5th in the 500 free on the Tar Heels’ top times list from last season. She will be coming in at the perfect time– Emma Nunn, Lauren Earp, and Ally Hardesty (three of UNC’s most talented freestylers) are all seniors this year, so Cameron should help fill the holes they’ll be leaving behind. They also lost their best 200-500 freestyler in Danielle Silverling after last season, so Cameron will really be helping out in that area of the Tar Heels’ lineup.
Looking back to last year’s ACC Championships, Cameron would’ve been on the B/C final bubble in the 500 free, made the C final in the 400 free, and would’ve just missed the 200 free C final. As the Tar Heels get closer to graduating a huge bulk of their top freestylers, Cameron will get to campus and help patch up the freestyle holes left behind.
Cameron is the third commit to UNC’s women’s team, joining fellow freestyler Kylie Mihok and IMer Eireni Moshos in their class of 2020.
