University of Indianapolis junior Jeremias Pock made history on Friday evening at the Great Lakes Valley Conference Championships, breaking the NCAA Division II record in the 100 breaststroke.

Pock stopped the clock at 51.58, going under 52 seconds for the first time in his career and dipping under Anton Lobanov‘s NCAA record of 51.63, which the Nova Southeastern swimmer set in 2015.

Entering the competition, Pock’s best time was the 52.08 he clocked to take runner-up at this meet last year.

Pock opened in 24.41 through the first 50, seven one-hundredths off of Lobanov’s pace, but closed in 27.17 to Lobanov’s 27.29 to sneak under the record by five one-hundredths.

When Pock set his previous best time, he split 24.61/27.47, so he found exactly two tenths on the opening 50 and three on the back half.

Earlier this week, Pock won the 200 IM in a new school and conference record of 1:43.63 and set a meet record en route to gold in the 400 IM (3:43.80). He also helped the Greyhounds win the 400 medley relay in a new conference and program record of 3:07.90, the fastest time in Division II this year, as well as the 200 medley relay with the second-fastest time this year. In the 200 free relay, he anchored in 19.39 to help UIndy place second in 1:19.05, the eighth-ranked time in D2.

Pock split 23.06/50.80 on the breast legs of those medleys, a foreshadowing of what was to come on Friday evening.

A junior in eligibility, Pock joined the Greyhounds last season and immediately made an impact, clocking 52.21 and 1:52.87 in the breaststroke events within his first few weeks with the team. At last year’s conference championships, he won the 200 breast (1:52.08) and 200 IM (1:44.26), in addition to securing runner-up finishes in the 100 breast (52.08) and 400 IM (3:47.19).

At the 2025 NCAA D2 Championships, Pock won the 400 IM (3:44.03) and racked up a trio of other top-three finishes: second in the 200 IM (1:44.26) and 200 breast (1:53.04), and third in the 100 breast (52.34), helping UIndy finish fifth overall in the team standings.

The UIndy men are looking to regain their GLVC conference title after falling to third last season. They currently lead by nearly 100 points over Drury, last year’s conference champion whose NCAA title was later vacated.

Drury remains the favorite to win the men’s NCAA crown this season, holding over a 200-point cushion over both McKendree and UIndy in the Swimulator.

Pock is set to defend his 200 breast title on Saturday. It goes without saying that his breaststroke is clearly on, so Lobanov’s 1:51.71 D2 record, also from 2015, is certainly on watch.

No doubt a great swim, but it’s still fun to see that Andrew Wilson’s D3 records are faster than D2

Will probably be right on the bubble. It’s exactly the time to get an invite last year, but with the new auto qualifiers, probably wouldn’t this year.
