La Canada, California-native Christina Campbell will continue in the family tradition of swimming in college next fall when she joins the UC Santa Barbara women’s swimming and diving team. Campbell will the fourth sibling to compete in the NCAA and the second to become a Gaucho. Her brother Alex graduated from UCSB in 2014, after spending four years competing for the Gauchos. Her older sisters Katy and Samantha are at UCLA and Cal Poly, respectively.

“I grew up watching my brother compete for UCSB, and saw him grow as a person, student, and athlete. After visiting Santa Barbara, I immediately fell in love with the amazing atmosphere that surrounds the beautiful UCSB campus. The team immediately welcomed me in and made me feel like I was already apart [sic] of their family. I know I can succeed as an athlete under the amazing coaching staff of Matt, Joe and Ellie. UCSB also offered me many academic opportunities especially being ranked as one of the top research universities in the nation. I am very excited to become a Gaucho!”
