COHEN TABBED AS ECAC WEEKLY WINNER

Senior diver picks up second award of week

CENTERVILLE, Mass. – Towson University senior diver Alex Cohen of the Tiger men’s swimming and diving team was named the co-winner of the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Men’s Diver of the Week award for southern Division I schools, the league announced.

He shares the award with Ben Freedman of Navy.

Cohen earned the award after leading the Tigers (10-1, 2-1 CAA) to a victory over Delaware on Saturday at Burdick Pool on Senior Day.

“I’m so proud of the way Alex handled the pressure of a dive-for-dive matchup against Delaware,” Towson Head Diving Coach Maureen Mead said. “We are focused on what needs to be done as we head into the last few weeks of the season.”

Cohen capped his senior day by winning both the one and three-meter diving events for the Tigers. He scored 287.18 points in the one-meter event and 331.05 points in the three-meter diving competition to earn the win.

The Tigers resume competition on Saturday at Penn State in a double-dual meet with St. Bonaventure at 1 p.m.

 

DICKSON TABBED AS ECAC WEEKLY WINNER

Junior helped Tigers remain unbeaten

CENTERVILLE, Mass. – Towson University junior Lyndsey Dickson of the Tiger women’s swimming and diving team was named the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Women’s Diver of the Week for southern Division I schools.

Dickson earned the award after leading the Tigers (12-0) to a victory over Delaware on Saturday at Burdick Pool.

“I’m so proud of the way Lyndsey handled the pressure of a dive-for-dive matchup against Delaware,” Towson Head Diving Coach Maureen Mead said. “We are focused on what needs to be done as we head into the last few weeks of the season.”

Dickson scored 295.50 points in three-meter diving competition and 275.85 points on the one-meter board to win both events.

The Tigers resume competition on Saturday at Penn State in a double-dual meet with St. Bonaventure at 1 p.m.
