Towson Picks Up 2 Commitments From Nick Fitzwilliam, Alex Diacumakos

The Towson men and women have each added a new member to their recruiting classes, as Rockville Montgomery Swim Club’s Nick Fitzwilliam and Raleigh Swimming Association’s Alex Diacumakos have verbally committed to join the Tigers next fall. Fitzwilliam will join the men after graduating from Northwest High School, while Diacumakos will join the women after graduating from Apex High School.

Nick Fitzwilliam:

Fitzwilliam is a versatile swimmer, with his best events including the middle distance freestyles, breaststrokes, and IMs. Last season, he qualified to compete in the 2016 NCSA Spring Championships. At that meet, he competed in the 50 breast, 100 breast, 200 breast, and 400 IM. His 4:06.73 in the 400 IM was a new lifetime best.

Fitzwilliam was also a 2-time finalist at the 2016 Maryland Public 4-5 State Championships, where he placed 6th in the 200 IM and 6th in the 500 free.

Alex Diacumakos

Diacumakos will give the Tigers a boost in the back, free, and IM events. At the 2016 North Carolina 4A State Championships, she qualified to compete in the 200 IM and 100 back. She finished in the top 16 of both races, with her highest finishing coming in the 100 back, where she was 14th.
