“Being a part of the National Select Camp staff this year is my chance to give back to the next generation of USA swimmers,” said Luchsinger. “I remember sitting at this camp years ago, watching, learning and being inspired by National Team members. Hopefully these campers can learn from my experiences and use them as motivation to work harder and get faster.”

Each fall, USA Swimming brings in 60 of the top USA Swimming member athletes in the nation for the National Select Camp. During the camp, swimmers will learn about post-race recovery, anti-doping and supplement rules, psychological training skills, nutrition, race strategy and more.

“I’m so happy to have been asked to work this camp,” said Sogar. “Camps like this expose rising stars to information that can help them take the next steps in their training, and I hope to be able to help them with anything I can.”

Luchsinger and Sogar’s appearance at the 2013 National Select Camp is part of USA Swimming’s Athlete Partnership Program. The program is a platform for National Team swimmer to encourage kids and adults to take up the sport as a healthy and positive activity. These appearances directly promote the sport and the healthy lifestyle it represents. To find more information about how to get started in the sport, visit www.swimtoday.org.
