BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – The Bowling Green State University swimming and diving competed in their first tri-meet of the season today against Marshall and Toledo. The Falcons split the tri-meet beating Marshall 165-135 and falling to Toledo 140.5-159.5.

For the second straight day the Falcons were able to take down the Thundering Herd of Marshall. This was due in part to another great diving performance. Junior Rayah Blood started competition winning the 3-Meter Dive and setting a career best in the event with a score of 291.05. It was much of the same for Blood in the 1-Meter winning her second event of the day with a score of 267.35.

While the Falcons split the tri-meet the swimmers still had a strong showing. Both Emily McNicol and Elayna Krupp swam to second place finishes in the 100 Free and the 50 Free before swimming a leg on the winning Falcon 200 Freestyle Relay team. Freshman Grace Bodrock ended the day with two top three finishes. Her best finish being in the 200 Butterfly where she finished second with a time of 2:09.40.

Rickey’s Reactions
“It was a good fight from our team today. Coming off of a hard meet last night and having such a young team the first away meet can be tough. Our divers were amazing again but, we have some learning to do as far as competing on the road. Overall, today was another great team effort.”

Up Next
The Falcons will have a few weeks off from competition before traveling to Oxford, Ohio to participate in the Miami Invite from December 1-3.
