2026 West Fargo Sectionals

The final night of West Fargo Sectionals has concluded and the boys 200 butterfly highlighted the evening. NC State commit Thomas McMillan earned the win in a 1:46.32, about half a second off his lifetime best 1:45.58 from March 2025.

McMillan was out in front the entire race but was followed closely behind by David Bocci who notably won the 400 IM last night in his first ever SCY 400 IM. Bocci, who swam collegiately at Division II Clarion, touched 2nd in the 200 fly with a 1:47.46. Bocci’s best time in the event is a 1:46.10, a time that he swam for 10th at last year’s NCAA Division II Championships. Touching 3rd was Colin Pickett as he swam to a 1:48.93.

Pickett picked up a win on the night as he swam to a 1:49.18 for the win in the 200 IM. That was about a second off his best time of a 1:48.14 that he swam at Winter Juniors West.

Blake Tebeest swam to two wins on the final night, swimming to a 21.79 in the 50 back. Under an hour later, Tebeest touched in a 43.10 in the 100 free, just off his lifetime best 42.85 that he swam last month at the Wisconsin high school boys state meet. Tebeest is committed to Indiana.

The final winner on the boys side was Evan Feilmeyer who swam to a 15:50.59 in the 1650 free. Feilmeyer competes for Grinnell College but did not race in the event at the team’s conference championships last month.

Leading the way on the girls side was Kenzie Hinrich who posted a best time of a 2:02.12 in the 200 IM to drop over a second off her lifetime best 2:03.19 that she swam in December at Winter Juniors West. Only 45 minutes later, the Wisconsin commit touched 2nd in the 50 breast with a 29.00, finishing just behind Lucy Parson who swam to a 28.78.

Louisville commit Aria Grossenbach had a strong showing in the 100 free as she touched in a 49.36. That was just off her lifetime best 49.19 that she swam in November.

16 year old Madi King dropped 1.82 seconds off her lifetime best in the 200 fly for the win. She touched in a 2:02.52, dropping from her previous best time of a 2:04.34 that she swam in March 2025 at Sectionals in Rochester.
