The Bahamas Capture Seventh Consecutive CARIFTA Team Trophy

XXXVIII CARIFTA AQUATICS CHAMPIONSHIPS

The 2025 CARIFTA Aquatics Championships wrapped up last night from Trinidad & Tobago. The annual age-group swimming competition has been taking place since 1985 and organized by the Caribbean Association of National Olympic Committees (CANOC).

Past editions have seen the likes of University of Tennessee’s Nikoli Blackman and Olympians Dylan Carter and Jillian Crooks.

This year’s version saw the Bahamas take the overall team trophy, amassing a total of 979 points. Behind them were Jamaica who captured runners-up in 795.50 followed by the host nation of Trinidad & Tobago who nabbed 735 points.

The Bahamas’ victory represented their 7th consecutive trophy and their 9th in the past 10th editions. The nation ended the competition with 74 medals in all, including 27 gold, 23 silver and 24 bronze.
